My images are from My Favorite Things Warm and Fuzzy Friends set.
I colored them with mission gold water colors on water color paper.

For my base panel I also used watercolor paper and used a
small rectangle die to cut my windows.
I splattered colors that matched my sequin mix on the top panel.

I added my images. . . .

I used a single layer of foam tape for this card.

I added my sentiment. . .

And a few sequins to the front of the card.

I used the Copper Penny Sparkle Blend for this card.
I love the browns, oranges and greens in this mix!

Boughs of Holly in May

Hello! Alison here. Today I have a Christmas shaker card to share with you. I know, I know....it's almost the unofficial start of Summer, but I find that I don't always have enough handmade cards to give over the holidays, so why not start now? And shaker cards with Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground are perfect for the holidays.
I often like to color images and just keep them together until I feel like putting them on a card, or I have inspiration. I colored this sweet little image named Sami from A Day for Daisies quite some time ago, and just never put it on a project. I knew it was perfect for a shaker.
Since I had pre-colored Sami, I chose my Sparkle Blend based on the colors I used on the image. Boughs of Holly was just perfect! This is a traditional Christmas colored Blend, but I really love the various shades of green in it. There is lots of sparkle and shine, plus some stars, holly leaves, and flowers.
I backed my shaker window with a small gingham, and cut the window with an oval die from Lawn Fawn's Magic Color Slider Die set. That die set has 3 shapes that are just perfect for shaker cards.

I love to mix patterns, so I added some polka dot cardstock that was cut with an older Avery Elle banner die. I also adhered a few additional sequins to the front of the card for additional sparkle. My sentiment is from Stampendous.
Do you get your holiday cards started early? When do you usually begin working on them? This is a bit early for me, but you gotta strike when inspiration hits, right? Please be sure to visit White Rose Crafts to see all of the currently available Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. Just a Note Card

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here with another fun shaker card.

Today, I am using the Sparkle Blends - Flamingo Tropic; this card is so much fun. I am so happy to have a tropical blend to create summer cards. This Blend has some beautiful summer colors and little flamingos - so, I just had to make a card with a Flamingo on it.

No photo description available.
Summertime screams bright, happy colors and tropical themes.
What says Tropical better than Flamingos,
Palm Trees, and Pineapples?
You will find all three, along with some gorgeous lime green
and hot pink sequins and confetti in this blend,
plus some tropical flowers to bring it all together.

How cute are those tiny flamingos?!

Sparkle Blend Canvas

EK Gorman, DPP Blend canvas a
Hey Everyone!  It is EK Gorman from ekgorman designs and I popping in today as a guest designer today!  Do you ever find that you have too many sequins lying around and don't know what to do with them?

Well, today I am sharing a really fun way to help deplete your stash!  It started with my kiddo who asked for a canvas that was nothing but sequins...an obvious request by an eight year old girl.  But how do you create a canvas that is just sequins...  Well I figured out a method and I thought you might enjoy seeing the process.

IMG_5901
I started with a 4x4x1.5 inch canvas I picked up at my local box store.  I also grabbed some metallic blue acrylic paint.

IMG_5902
I painted the sides of the canvas with the metallic canvas, leaving the top white.

IMG_5903
Then using some rose colored wax, I blended a little around the top of the canvas.

IMG_5904
Then to hold the sparkle blends to the canvas, I spread a thick layer of Golden Heavy Gel medium.

IMG_5905
I then added some Conversation Hearts sparkle blends to the gel, pressing the sequins into the medium.

IMG_5906
I then repeated the process with both the Springtime blend and Easter Basket blend.  I left a little line between each group so that they would not mix.

IMG_5907
I then added some Liquitex Matte Medium over the blends to help lock the sequins into place.

IMG_5909
Then poured some Clear Tar Gel over the whole canvas.

IMG_5910

The Clear Gel is self leveling and will really seal the blend under a protective silicon over everything, forever locking the sequins into place.

IMG_5911
I let the tar run over the edges to create some more visual interest on the canvas.  It takes 24 hours for the clear tar to cure, but when it does it is transparent and ultra shinny!

When the tar finishes curing, you end up with a little piece of art!

I just love how the light catches this mini canvas.  Needles to say, my child has already hung this bit of girly goodness in her room!

Storm Cloud Shaker Card...

Hi ya crafty peeps. Today I am sharing a fun little and 50% recycled project. It's a little shaker card that is perfect for summer! Here is my make.

This shaker card for Doodles Paper Playground features the Sparkle Blend Storm Cloud. I am a fan of blues and this blend was perfect for this up-cycled project.  This greyed out blend of deep blues, dark purples, greys, white and silver evoke the feel of swirling dark, stormy sky.

Hap-Pea Birthday!

Hap-Pea Birthday!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I used the Be Hap-Pea set from Lawn Fawn.
I stamped the images with copic friendly ink and colored them using
copic markers G43, YG17, G46 and YG67

I love adding faces to these cute little peas. . . So Cute!!

I die cut my base panels. . .

Stamped my sentiment and some decor on the top panel. . . .

Layered my two bottom panels. . .

I wanted these happy peas to be inside the shaker.
I used my top panel that that I could please my peas in the correct spot.
I used a single layer of foam adhesive.

I then laid out my sequins and added the top panel
with a double layer of foam tape.

I took one of the pea pods form the set and added a few more
happy peas and added that to the front of the card.

I love how this card turned out!!

I used the May Birthstone Collection Sparkle Blend.
Green is my favorite color and I love the cool shards and mini beads in this mix!
