Warm And Cozy Wishes

Happy Thanksgiving to all those who are celebrating! These cuties are celebrating too! With a mix of Eggnog With Nutmeg Sparkle Blends and Mulled Wine Sparkle Blends! This mix of blends is perfect for this cozy scene!

I have used Coffee Friends Stamp and Die Sets and Cozy Christmas Eve Stamp and Die Sets, along with Cozy Burrow Scene Builder Die Set, all from Hello Bluebird Stamps, to create this super cute and festive shaker card. I used both Catherine Pooler Inks as well as Copics to color this up. I have also used Scor Tape as well as some thin foam tape to create my shaker.

I really do love everything about how well these blends go together and work wonderfully for this scene and personally may need to grab some more before they are gone!

So head over to the Sparkle Blends Shop. Grab your favorites from the November release while they are still available! And as always, take a look on the Doodles Paper Playground blogFacebook page and in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on Facebook to see all the fun things going on!

I do hope you enjoy this project and can't wait to see what you create!

Hugs!

Believe

So today I am playing with Hello Frosty Sparkle Blend and I must say this may really be a favorite for me. It is winter, and it is all my favorite colors and it really goes beyond just the holidays and works all winter long. So check this out.

My card base is Classic Crest Natural White 110lb cardstock cut and scored to create an A2 size base. I am using a new shaker kit from Queen and Company called Heartfelt Holiday kit. I have used the fabulous ornament foam shapes and dies to create my shaker. I have also used a paper pad from Queen and Company called All Bundled Up, which has lots of fun elements but most importantly the colors are perfect with this blend! Additionally, I have used some basic shape dies from Stamps Of Life and from Lawn Fawn to pull this all together. I also used Scor Tape as well as Foam Tape to create some dimensionality with my layers, and as a finishing touch, some purple bakers twine also in my stash from Queen and Company.

I really do love everything about this blend and personally may need to grab some more before it is gone!

Happy Holidays

So today I am playing with the fabulous Sparkle Blend mix called Lights In The Forest. I have to be honest, this is such an amazing blend and can be used for so many different things, that it is pretty much a must! I have paired it with this fabulous Stamp Set from Hero Arts called Winter Woods HeroScape. These things together work so well for making an Infinity Shaker, which you all know I love doing. I did use a bunch of inks between stamping and blending, so for my layering I used Catherine Pooler inks in Spruce, Aquatini, Hot Tub, and Stone Blue. I also used for my ink blending Distress Oxides in Black Soot, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire, and Faded Jeans. For my sentiment and my black stamping I used Memento Tuxedo Black. Additionally I used acetate for my shaker panel with one inch wide scor tape to create the infinity shaker and finally some blue glitter cardstock from DCWV and my card base is Classic Crest Natural White 110lb cardstock cut and scored to create an A2 size base.

This is really such a perfect blend for so many things, that I personally may need to grab some more before it is gone!

Unicorn Chill

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1221.jpg

Hey Friends! It's EK and I am back today with two cards for the price of one featuring the beautiful Sparkle Blend mix Unicorn Chill from Doodles Paper Playground.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1147.jpg

To create my first card I blended distress oxides around a piece of watercolor paper. Then I die cut the paper to create the effect I wanted. I stamped this really fun sentiment (which I think could not be more relevant right now).

I added the Unicorn Chill sequin mix inside the shaker card and adhered with liquid adhesive a few of the hearts onto the sentiment.

I think this is the perfect anytime card for the woman in your life who is sort of her own version of super woman!

The second card was created simply because I had the extra bit of scrap from the ink blend water color paper.

I trimmed up a piece of Lawn Fawn printed paper and used the watercolor paper as a frame.

I created a background with splatters of Nuvo Mica Mist and Distress Oxide Spray. I adhered the printed paper and frame onto the background, and then added Unicorn Chill sequins around the frame.

I love the subtle holiday flair to this card without being an obvious Christmas card.

Winter is Warmer Together

Greetings! Alison here. I have a fun shaker card to share with you today that uses the "Hello Frosty" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I was really inspired by the pink sequins in this Blend, so I decided to use a flamingo from Stampendous' "Peeking Pals" stamp set.

My flamingo needed a little something to keep her warm, so I added a hat from Stampendous' "Winter Pals" stamp set. I colored the hat and flamingo with Copic markers. My shaker panel (which has the flamingo stamped directly on it) was created with Stampendous' "Winter White" stamps and dies, which unfortunately I don't think are available anymore. But, there are many other snowflake stamps and dies out there, so I am sure you could achieve a similar look.

My snowflakes were stamped with VersaFine Clair Ink in Twilight. I did my die cutting first, so that I could stamp my snowflakes around the window. You can see here the pretty colors of the "Hello Frosty" Sparkle Blend, as well as a couple of the teeny clay snowmen and snowflakes that are in it. I love the cool colors in this Blend. Behind my window, I added a patterned paper scrap that I had, plus I stamped a sentiment to put on top. My card base was ink blended with Speckled Egg and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.

I really like the addition of pink in this card, instead of keeping to only blue tones for a winter card. It not only adds a little warmth, but it also adds some fun pops of additional color. Please visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy to see "Hello Frosty" as well as all of the other limited edition Sparkle Blends. I can’t wait to see what you make! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Thanksgiving Blessings

Hey Friends! It's EK and today I am guest designing here at Doodles Paper Playground and playing around with one of the newly released Sparkle Blends sequin mixes. I just love the subtle colors of the new Eggnog with Nutmeg mix, and just had to make a fall themed card.

I started by die cut and coloring a frame from Poppy Stamps. I realize this frame is more christmas themed than fall themed, but I figured with muted coloring it would pull into the theme I wanted.

I then stamped some fun pumpkins and a sentiment onto an A2 card frame. I then blended brown Distress Oxides over the card frame. I used Brushed Corduroy, VIntage Photo and Walnut Stain. I then splattered the ink with some shimmer spray .

I added Eggnog with Nutmeg sparkle blend onto the card and added the colored frame to create a shaker pocket.

Yes this is a super simple card but a really fun one I think to sent this thankful season.

Do you create cards for Thanksgiving? Let us know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting!

Good Vibes

Hello! Alison here. My card today features the rich, beautiful new "Mulled Wine" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I opted to not make a shaker today, but to instead just scatter the pretty sequins around my card.

I, like I'm sure many of you, have plenty of stamp sets that haven't been used in a while because of "new" things. So I decided to pull out a stamp set that I've had for a while, that I don't get to use as often as I'd like. It's the Gina K Designs "Something Good" stamp set. It's got such a fun combination of images that lend themselves well to my style.

I played with the arrangement of the stamps and applied a few directly on to Kraft cardstock. For my flower, I stamped it on cream, fussy cut it, and sprinkled some of Stampendous' "Seasonings" embossing powder in the middle. I also gold heat embossed the dots from the stamp set directly on to the Kraft cardstock. I tore the top and bottom of the cardstock and inked it with a deep brown ink. I then inked a brick-colored ink on to my cream card base and adhered the stamped layer. I adhered the flower to the card with foam dots for dimension. And last, I added the beautiful sequins from the Mulled Wine Sparkle Blend. Look at all of those unique colors! Aren't they beautiful?

I love the colors and the various textures on this card. And it shines so nicely in real life! This was a fast card to create, and it can easily be made in in an assembly line-style if you needed to mass produce it. Plus, by changing the colors of the inks and Sparkle Blends, you can get a totally different look. There are lots of stunning new Blends to choose from! Have you seen the release in it’s entirety? You can visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy to check it out, and get an even closer look in the FB Live I did last week in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club. I can’t wait to see what you make! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
