Cut it out

Gnome pun intended, this new Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground makes the cut. "You Make the Cut" is full of so many gorgeous elements, it will never be cut. The metallic scissors alone are enough to make this a truly unique blend. I instantly thought scrapbooking and paper crafting, but this blend could be used for a hair dresser, seamstress, or anyone you want to let know they made the cut.

this mix shine. The color palette is not to be missed. I used Photoplay's "Crafting with my Gnomies" stamp set to create this crafty themed card. The background was made with a Photoplay stencil from the same line.

If you want to make the cut, head over to the shop and grab yours today!

 Birds of a Feather

You know how it goes. Birds of a feather and all that. Well this stunning new Sparkle Blend called Twilight Meadow from Doodles Paper Playground definitely gives new meaning to that saying. All the different elements in this blend definitely flock together.

Take a close look and you will see some amazing, unexpected pieces in this blend. The deep color palette is so rich that you would never expect to see bright pink gemstones or pale green owls. Yet all those different pieces come together to make this an exquisite blend of feathery delight. My favorite part of this blend is definitely the feathers. So naturally I chose to use a bird stamp. However, I wanted to keep it fun since there are pops of bright colors in this blend. That is reflected in the Copics I chose to color the birds. I tried to match all the bright bolds.

Twilight Meadow is definitely a blend you do not want to miss out on. This blend will enhance any paper craft project and bring it to the next level. Grab yours today and check out some amazing new products in the shop including Sparkle Sticks, Sequin Trays and Bling Butterflies.

Scootin' By To Say. . .

Scootin' By To Say. . .

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started with die cutting my top panel and stamping the sentiment.

I stamped these images from Lawn Fawn Scootin' By stamp set.
I colored them with copic markers and die cut them out.

I assembled my images on the card front,
I used winks of Stella on the dirt cloud and balloons,
and a black glaze pen on the wheels.

I used foam tape and closed in my sequins with a second layer of acetate.
I chose a pink speckled background for the shaker window.

Then I added sequins to the front to finish the card.
I used the new Sparkle stick to place these sequins.
That stick is amazing!!
I usually use tweezers and end up with sequins flying all over my desk!
This stick made them so easy to pick up and and released great also!!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I used the Subtle Rainbow Sparkle Blend
that will be part of the June release, Available on June 4th.

It really is a great subtle rainbow mix and I love the little rainbows!

Sneak Peek!

Hello! Alison Heikkila here. Today I have a double sneak peek for you! Doodles Paper Playground is releasing their newest Sparkle Blend collection this Friday at 3PM EST. Starting today, some of the Design Team will be sharing projects using those new Blends. Well, Sassy & Crafty also has a new release this week, so I used one of the newest stamp sets on my card.

The Sparkle Blend is called, "You Make the Cut." Huh. Now, why would it be called that, I wonder? You'll just have to wait and see the entire Sparkle Blend on Thursday. I left out a bunch of the elements that are in it, and used just a few sequins.

Look at those soft, pretty colors! Aren't they lovely? I thought they worked really well with this fairy from Sassy & Crafty. She and the sentiment are from the new "Never Grow Up" stamp set. The whole set is adorable, and I know many of you will love it. I used a butterfly border die from Your Next Stamp near the bottom of the card front, and I added some soft turquoise patterned paper behind it. The butterflies needed some more emphasis, so I inked the top of the turquoise paper with Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink. I also added some Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to the top and bottom of my card base, to help tie all of the colors I used together.

So what do you think about these sneak peeks? Are you excited to see what else is getting released? I'll be showing the entire new collection of Sparkle Blends on the Doodles Paper Playground FB Page on Thursday at 8PM EST, so I hope you will join. Meanwhile, be sure to check in here at the Doodles Paper Playground Blog to see more little sneak peeks from other members of the Design Team. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

You're the Sunflower

I think I love these Sparkle Blends too much. And if anyone actually gets that song reference, I'm impressed! But not as impressed as I am with these Sunflower Sparkle Blends.

I created this card for someone very special to me, who's friendship is a bright ray in my life. I wanted to convey something radiant. And since I am in love with this Layering Sunflower stencil from Photoplay, I thought it was the perfect match for the "Sunflower" Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. This blend is filled with warm golden tones but has brown shimmer pieces that really make it glow. The clay slices give it a very organic feel and the small discs really balance out the colors. I loved that I was able to use the different elements on the outside of the card to accentuate different parts of my stamped image. This adorable girl and flower pot are part of "Bloom Stamp" from Sassy and Crafty. They have a very diverse, amazing selection of stamps. I used an Echo Park stencil to lightly make a background pattern with the new Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink. The girl and flower were colored with Copics. The sentiment strips are Brutus Monroe's Conversation Clippings.

I really enjoyed creating this card for a very special person. The card needed a little something extra and Sparkle Blends always do the trick!
