Happy Fall Y'all

IMG_8062
Hey Friends!  It's EK and today I am lucky enough to be guest designing here at Doodle's Paper Playground and playing with some of their sparkle blends sequins.  Today I pulled out the Copper Penny Sparkle Blends because I really feel this pack has a fun fall feel to it that is unique.

I pulled out some distress oxides today in Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge and Carved Pumpkin as well as the Stampendous stamp set Jumbo Leaves.

After all the ink blending and stamping, I added the copper penny sequins to each of the dots the stamp had left behind.

This was such a simple card to make, but yet, I think it really has such a fun look.

Let me know in the comments below what your favorite fall sparkle blend pack is.  Until then, Happy Crafting.

My images are from My Favorite Things Warm and Fuzzy Friends set.
I colored them with mission gold water colors on water color paper.

For my base panel I also used watercolor paper and used a
small rectangle die to cut my windows.
I splattered colors that matched my sequin mix on the top panel.

I added my images. . . .

I used a single layer of foam tape for this card.

I added my sentiment. . .

And a few sequins to the front of the card.

I used the Copper Penny Sparkle Blend for this card.
I love the browns, oranges and greens in this mix!

Chameleon Hello

Chameleon Hello

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I used the magic picture changing die from Lawn Fawn
to create my color changing chameleon.
I used ink blending and masking to create the two images
and then die cut the pieces out.

Here is the assembled sliding image.
I used the add-on frame and some Spiffy Speckles paper.

For the bottom portion of my card I did some ink blending
and die cut some banners so they would match my colored chameleon
and die cut a scalloped circle.

I placed my banners and die cut circle. . .

Placed the picture changer at the top and then added my die cut sentiment. . .

I added matching sequins to the front of the card to help tie all the colors together!

I used two Sparkle Blends on this card. .  .
Copper Penny and Springtime
I picked out pink and orange sequins that matched the
color scheme of my card. . . .
It is a great way to be able to use specific blends even if all the colors in the blend do not match your project!

Copper Penny Hex Shakers

Hello Crafty Friends! Alison here, and today I am sharing a shaker card using the gorgeous Copper Penny Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. But before we jump in, let me ask you....do you play along with The Daily Marker's 30 Day Coloring Challenge? I try to play along each time it happens, but I admittedly have a tough time completing the entire month, unfortunately. I really need to work on that! The reason I ask is because I am guessing that some of you, like me, wind up with a bunch of colored images but not a completed project. I keep an envelope of my colored images on my desk so that I can rummage through them any time I need to make something quick, or I'm not sure what I feel like working on. That's what I did with this card. This adorable kitty from Vera Lane was colored and fussy cut some time ago, but I just didn't have a chance to complete a project with him. He's part of the Quirky Zombie Couple and Cat digi set.
I colored the cat with Memento Markers, which helped me to choose the right Sparkle Blend for my card. Copper Penny was just perfect because of the shades of oranges, copper, golds, and touches of dark teal.
To create my shakers, I used the Hex Dies from Simon Says Stamp and CZ Designs. I actually kept my Hex shapes attached to each other, to ensure they were lined up nicely with each other. I cut them out, then I used the 2 striped Hex Stamps from the coordinating set, stamped with Tea Dye Distress Oxide on Neenah Desert Storm cardstock. I backed the shakers with a scrap from a very old piece of DCWV patterned cardstock.
I like to add a few sequins to the outside of my card for some added dimension and shine. I use On Point Glue for this. I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and I added my shaker panel to a brown card base.
This kitty cracks me up! He looks like he is just barely holding it together. And I bet a lot of us can relate (I know I can!). I hope you'll head on over to White Rose Crafts LLC to check out Copper Penny and the rest of the Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. They are the exclusive retailer for this sparkly goodness. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

You Are Amazing featuring Copper Penny Sparkle Blend

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here with a card featuring Copper Penny Sparkle Blend.

This bold and beautiful blend of metallic oranges,
glittery brown & deep green, transparent cream,
and greenish gold is the perfect winter metallic hue.

I just add a few of the sequins from the Copper Penny Sparkle Blend as a finishing touch for this card. I figured I've been making lots of shakers lately I wanted to show how the blends can be used as a finishing touch or as a shaker mix. That's why I love Amber's Sparkle Blends they are perfect for all your projects.

Our Love is Brilliant!

Our Love is Brilliant

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started by die cutting all my base panels

I heat embossed this cute light bulb from Lawn Fawn using
Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder.
I colored it with copic markers and used some Winks of Stella on it.

I used a partial sentiment from a Lawn Fawn set and
this brilliant word from a spellbinders set.
I heat embossed them with Ranger liquid platinum embossing powder.
I also used a little bit of distress ink in ground espresso
on the edges of this panel.

I layered up my panels.
I used a single layer of foam tape to adhere the top panel.

I placed the light bulb in the window with a single layer of foam tape as well.

To finish this card I used sequins from
Doodles Paper Playground Copper Penny Sparkle Blend.
It is this really cool mix of oranges and greens and teals and browns.
. . . I love it.

Hex Yeah!

Hello! Alison here. Today I am sharing a card that I made my son for his birthday. He loves shaker cards, so I knew I wanted to go in that direction.  I actually used 4 Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground on this card. One of them is Copper Penny from the new release. And I finally have the Hex Yeah stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp and CZ Designs, that I knew he would think was cool.

I made 4 shaker windows using the 2 hexagon dies in the set. I actually kept them attached so that I didn't have to worry about measuring the distance between them. Once I laid out my first set (the top 2), I rotated the hexagons so that the little one would sit in where I just die cut it. This allowed me to cut a larger one with the proper spacing. I repeated this with the larger hexagon to cut the final little guy.

As I mentioned, I used Copper Penny Sparkle Blend in the upper left hexagon, followed by Peacock PizzazBe Leaf in Yourself, and last but not least, Breakfast at Tiffy's. Look at the square sequins in Copper Penny! I knew my son would love the contrasting Blends. I backed the shakers with Gold Shimmer Paper. I really like adding fancy paper behind the windows. To jazz up the background, I wet some gold Fine Tec watercolor and splattered it all over. More shine is always good with my boy. The "It's your birthday" is from Stampendous.

Needless to say, my son loved his card. There was a lot of shaking going on after he received it. I think it's a pretty cool card too.
