Love You Card

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here today sharing a Love card with a spring twist.

Sometimes you just need to let someone in your life how much you love them. Perhaps they are going through a tough time or just need to know they are loved.

I created this card using the Sparkle Blends: Cozy and Sparkle Blends: Spring Fling. I like to combine my blends from time to time.

Image may contain: food
This desaturated blend of eggplant, teal, champagne, lavender,
hunter green & red has the perfect cold weather vibe.
Mainly a base of matte & satin sequins, with just the right
touch of glitter and iridescence.

With a beautiful base of pastel pink, lavender, pink,
light gold and blue metallic cup sequins, and
a generous amount of tiny pastel heart confetti,
Spring Fling is perfect for all your Spring (or wedding/engagement/new baby!)
projects - especially in the light of the pretty touch of
whimsy we're incorporated by the addition of
pastel colored butterflies and faceted crystals.

I created this shaker card with both blends. I stamped and colored the images in soft colors. I then die cut the word from white cardstock and used a bit of Distress Oxide in Shaded Lilac only on the bottom of the letters. I also punch three tiny white flowers from the remaining white cardstock and add some Nuvo Drops to the center of them. I also add some Nuvo the stamped flowers.

I did some finishing touches with some Wink of Stella in Clear and a bit of detail dots in Gelly Roll pen Metallic gold.

Supplies Used:
Word Die Cuts: MFT
Stamps by Chloe -Fancy Foliage: Bird & Flowers
Punch: EK Success - Tiny Flower

☆ Dream ☆

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I die cut my base panel from this pretty purple cardstock
and this is a die cut from Cricut.
I am using it as the web to my dream catcher for this card.

I stamped these feathers from Strawberry Jude Stamps on
some watercolor paper and used Zig Clean Color markers to add color.
I cut them out with my scan and cut.

I added some Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide to the web.

I adhered the web to the base panel with a Zig two way glue pen and
then added the feathers with some scor tape.

For the dream die cut I placed some score tape on the back of the
paper so that I wouldn't have to try to get glue on the skinny cut.
So much easier!

I used the star outline and the ink splatters to add
something extra to the base panel.

Then I added sequins to the web with some glossy accents.

I used sequins from the Sparkle Blends : Vixen set to decorate the web.
I love the pale inks, purples and blues in this set, so dreamy!

Girl Power...

Hi crafty peeps! It's my turn to share a little girl power card featuring a fun Sparkle Blend from the awesome Sparkle Blend company Doodles Paper Playground!
So I am a girl that likes sparkle, flowers and a strong sense of self so I couldn't help but make this card all about the sense of "Girl Power". Ladies can be the Queen of a castle, a knight that saves the day or a maiden who is assertive.

The Sparkle Blend I used is called Flower Power and it's full of fun items!  If you are a floral fanatic, this blend is perfect! We skipped the usual cupped sequins in favor of nothing but flowers in this bright, happy blend! Use them mixed as filler for shaker cards, or pick out just a few to embellish your spring and summer projects. Flower styles range from simple daisies to Fimo slices and holographic blooms.

Birthday Shaker

Hello! Alison here. I have found that one of the most popular cards that people create are birthday cards. We need them all year, so it's easy to understand why they are so popular to make. And who doesn't love a good celebratory card? I've got a shaker card today that uses the beautiful "Aquamarine" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground.
I've been trying to use some of the Distress Oxide backgrounds that I've created this month, and if you frequent my blog, you'll see that I have used several in March. I really love how this one turned out, which was done on glossy photo paper. I used Salty Ocean, Cracked Pistachio, Mustard Seed, and Tumbled Glass on it. The background inspired me on how to create the finished card.
The "Aquamarine" Sparkle Blend is monochromatic, but has lots of lovely shades in it. I love the wide range of sizes, shapes, and styles of sequins. You can see the beautiful variety in the photo above.
I broke out Doodlesbug's Dragon Tails Odds & Ends to create my shaker window and add some extra elements. This set has so many fun images, and it's such a time saver since I don't have to color anything. I also stamped a simple "Happy Birthday" from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words set, stamped in ScrapBerry's Stains Blue ink, which I also used on my card base.
The background of this card had enough going on that I didn't need to do too much to the foreground. And using pre-colored and cut images really helped to make this card come together quickly. Which kinds of cards do you find that you make most frequently? Are birthday cards high on your list? That's it for me today. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Hello Spring with Storm Clouds

EK Gorman, DDP 3:24 a
Hi friends!  It's EK Gorman from ekgormandesigns and I am sneaking in today to share this fun shaker card because once again I get the privilege of guest designing here at Doodle's Paper Playground.

storm clouds
Today I am pulled out a pack of Storm Clouds Sparkle Blends sequins to create a fun spring themed shaker card today.  Why, you ask would I used a pack of stormy themed sequins for a Spring card?  Why because of all the April showers that fall!

EK Gorman, DDP 3:24 b
The face of this shaker card was created using some Distress Resist on top of some watercolor paper.  Then I pulled out the Milled Lavender, Worn Lipstick and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides.
I also die cut out the center of the card with an oval die and I die cut the edges of the card with a fancy edging die.

I colored up the Gorjuss girl image Jar of Hearts and fussy cut her out and placed her on top of my shaker card.  To back the sequins I pulled out some Craft Creations Pink Textured with Silver foil paper.  And I just love how the Storm Clouds sparkle blends pop with the rest of the card!

Thank you for peeking in today.  I hope you enjoyed my stormy spring card!

Hi Shaker Card

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here with a fun Spring shaker card perfect to send to anyone.

With a few simple die cuts, you can easily create multiples of this card. I used 2 Sparkle Blends for the shaker - Sparkle Blends: Flower Power & Sparkle Blends: Flaming Sunset

No photo description available.
For a floral fanatic, this blend is perfect!  Flowers in this bright, happy blend!
Flower styles range from simple daisies to Fimo slices and holographic blooms.

Image may contain: food
The beautiful hues of red, yellow, orange and gold sequins, crystals,
seed beads, and colorful spheres gives this blend just the right tone.

So, Let's get started!

I gathered my supplies. Then, I die cut the word HI using my big letters from heavyweight white cardstock and some flowers from glitter cardstock and vellum.

Next, I used some Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Spray in Spiced Marmalade and Some TH Distress Oxide Ink in Squeezed Lemonade on the card front panel that I die cut my greeting from. I set it aside to dry.

Then, I worked on the flowers. I added a bit of liquid glue to the center of the vellum flowers and added the glitter flowers on top. I then curled the petals a bit for some dimension.

Now, that the front panel is dry; I turn it over and adhere some clear packaging (you can use acetate) to the back. I then add some foam adhesive all over the back of the front panel - expect where the greeting is. Next, I add a mix of the Sparkle Blends into the open area. Add the Light Orange cardstock backing to the panel.

Now, adhere the flowers to the front panel. I added some Sparkle Blends to the center of the flowers for a finishing touch.

Now, the card is complete!

You're Super Sweet Card featuring Sparkle Blends: Sweet Treats

Hello Crafty Friends - Annie here with a fun shaker card featuring the Sweet Treats Sparkle Blends

This card is full of sweet treat inside and out. I created a mini bag full of candy treats.

A pastel blend of sprinkle shaped beads,
artificial Fimo sprinkles, hearts, stars,
cup sequins, iridescent crystals and
cupcake & ice cream cone shaped Fimo shapes
is a fun addition to any birthday card or project!

Here's my card with the Sparkle Blends at the bottom of the mini treat bag.

Showing the Sparkle Blends

So, let's get started on the card.

First, I stamped and colored the images from Skull and Cross Buns Retro Sweeties Stamp set.
Then, die cut a window in my mini treat bag using a small square die.
I added a piece of chipboard inside of the bag so not to cut through the bag.

Next, I adhered clear plastic to the die cut square.
I used a piece of packaging, slid it into the bag and glue it in place.

Then, I adhered some of the little Retro Candy stamped images to the inside of the mini bag. Next, I fill the bag with the Sparkle Blends: Sweet Treat and I added a bit of Recollections Brand Glitz glitter. Seal up the mini treat bag.

Then, I matted white cardstock onto medium purple cardstock for my card front. I adhered the mini treat bag to the card front and embellished with the rest of the colored images. I stamped sentiment onto white cardstock and colored the word SWEET with some Distress Markers and matted it onto black cardstock. Then, I adhered the sentiment on foam adhesive.

 Now the card is complete!

This is a fun and colorful card perfect for your sweetie, a child and a friend.

Supplies Used:
Distress Markers: Ripe Persimmon, Tumbled Glass,
Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserves & Mowed Lawn
Skull & Cross Bun Retro Sweeties Stamp Set
Whisker Graphics Mini Treat Bags: White & Yellow Dots
Recollections Brand Cardstock: White, Black, & Purple
Recollections Brand Glitter: Glitz
Sakura Gelly Roll Pen: White
