You're All That

Hello! I shared a card I made for one of my sisters the other day. You can check it out HERE. Today, I have a card for my other sister. Her favorite colors are green and hot pink (her hair is often hot pink, in fact), so I knew I needed to use the Flamingo Tropic Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground.
I found this adorable dig from Stamp Anniething, called All That and a Bag of Chips and I thought she was perfect for my sister. I colored her with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and fussy cut her out.
I used a Fitted Frame from Stampendous to cut out my shaker window, and then, using Rose Bud Memento Ink, I stamped bags of chips from an old Beth Duff Designs stamp set all over the background. I found a fun paper scrap to put inside my shaker window that went really well with the Flamingo Tropic Sparkle Blend.
You can see in the photo above the different shades of pink and green that are in this Blend. I love the little flowers and gems too. There are also flamingo sequins, but I omitted them for this card. It's a bright, bold, and happy Sparkle Blend, and it's perfect for my sister.

My sister called me right away when she got her card in the mail. It was an unexpected surprise, and she really loved it. I hate that I can't see my sisters right now, but I'm hoping that the cards I gave them put smiles on their faces. Have you checked out the new Sparkle Blends Shop yet? Many Thanks

Many Thanks

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

This card came together very quickly!
I had this flower image that I had previously colored,
It matched the Citrine sparkle blend perfectly!

I die cute my panel and window from this yellow floral paper from Lawn Fawn.
Again, a perfect match!

I added a thank you sentiment to the bottom corner.

Added my floral image to the left. . . .
I did trim the leaf that is hanging off the edge.

I added foam tape to the back of the panel and laid out the sequins
then placed the panel on top.

To finish the card I added sequins to the front.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this project I used the Citrine - Birthstone Sparkle blend.

Salutations Shaker

Greetings and salutations! Alison here! Today I have a new shaker card that I made for one of my sisters. During this time of physical distancing, since I can't see her (or my other sister), I decided to make them each a card. Of course they needed to be shaker cards too. So I broke out my Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. You'll get to see the card I made for my other sister on 4/24/2020.
I found some amazing freebies from Stamp Anniething recently, and as soon as I saw this gal with her little cactus, I knew I had to color her for my sister. My sister has hair just like this, and she loves her plants. After I colored her, I chose my Sparkle Blend, which happened to be Mermazing. I did remove all of the shells and mermaids before I added the sequins to my shaker, but I can totally use them another time.
I happened to find plaid paper that went really well with my colored image and Sparkle Blend, and it saved me time from making a background panel. I paired the plaid with a turquoise glitter cardstock for behind my shaker window. Look at how pretty the colors are in that Sparkle Blend! I love the different shades of turquoise and green.
I found my fabulously snarky sentiment from a Simon Says Stamp & CZ Design set called "Salty Ladies." I apologize if this isn't your sense of humor, but it is very much that of my sister and I. I stamped it in brown, to go with the distressing of the plaid paper.

I am happy to report that my sister got a good laugh from this card, and she was excited to see that the girl looked so much like her. I hadn't been coloring people very often lately, but I've been in such a mood to. It's been fun getting back into it. It's also fun to choose the coordinating Sparkle Blends t go along with whatever I've colored. There are so many options, it's easy to find several Blends that will work with whatever you create! And the Award goes too...

IMG_9807
Hey everyone!  It's EK popping in with as a guest designer today!  I really feel like I we should be celebrating the little things these days, like putting on pants.  So I thought it would be appropriate to make a little card to celebrate the little things and I just love how Doodles Paper Playground Gold Rush Sparkle Blend accents the project perfectly!

I started by embossing some Tim Holtz stamps onto cardstocks using antique gold embossing powder.  I splashed some Distress Oxide Spray in Tumbled Glass, Picked Raspberry and Tattered Rose over the card.  I then blended a little Picked Raspberry and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink into the corners.

I just love how the Gold Rush blend has large sequins that hold their own simply adhered to a project.  They simply are stunning adhered to the card adding just the right amount of bling.

Let me know in the comments below what little thing you've done today that needs an award to celebrate.  Until then, happy crafting!

Girl Bunny Shaker

Greetings! If you caught my post from a few days ago, you would have seen the Boy Bunny Shaker card that I made for Phoenix. I promised that I would share Rhiannon's too, so today is the day. For her card, I used the Easter Basket Anya from The Greeting Farm, along with the Intergalactic Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. This card has a very different feel to it because of the deep colors that I used.
As usual, I started by coloring my image. That's how I decide on everything else for my card. I colored her with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and then cut her out.
I always have a bunch of backgrounds that i made in my stash, so I decided to see if there was anything that worked with this colored image. I found an alcohol ink background that I thought worked perfectly! This then led me to check out my Sparkle Blends, and I immediately chose Intergalactic.
The colors are so bold, and there are lots of small holographic hexagons which really makes this Blend light up. It's beautiful, and I knew Rhiannon would love it on this card. I love all of the different stars in it too.

I've got lots more shakers to share with you this month, all with a simple layout like this one. But, I plan on making a few more complicated ones soon. Shaker Planner Clip

Easter Egg Shaker Planner Clip

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I made a cute little Easter egg planner clip to use on my planner.

I used a die from Lawn Fawn and die cute two colored bases,
an acetate base and the top layer with the cut outs.

I layered the acetate base with the top panel and then added
a layer of foam to the back.

I filled it with the littlest pieces from the Eater Basket mix.
I used one of the pink bases to close the back.

Now to turn it into a planner clip!

I placed my second die cut base in the paperclip.
I like my clip to actually sit inside my planner not stick out of the top so
I place my items lower down on the paper clip.
I covered the base with hot glue and then place the completed shaker on top.

That's it!

I love making these little clips and love that most of the sparkle blends
have pieces that are the perfect size for this!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this project I used the Easter Basket sparkle blend.

Boy Bunny Shaker

Greetings! Alison here. I have a shaker card to share today that I made for Phoenix for Easter. I recently printed a bunch of digital images from The Greeting Farm, including Easter Basket Ian and Easter Basket Anya, and I knew that I needed to make cards for both of my kids with them. This was also the perfect time to make them each shaker cars, using Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. for Phoenix, I used the "Easter Basket" Sparkle Blend. And you'll have to wait and see what I did for Miss Rhiannon.

I colored my Eater Basket Ian with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. After I fussy cut him, I looked through some backgrounds I had made previously to see if I could use any of them. The one I chose was made with gelatos and The Rabbit Hole Designs' "Diamond Flower" stencil. I love the ghost-like effect you can get when using gelatos with stencils.

Here you can see some of the fun little shapes in the "Easter Basket" Sparkle Blend. There are large, dimensional flowers, teeny bunny heads, swirls, itty bitty flowers, beads, and many other things. And the color palette is soft and pretty.

Yellow Rose Shaker

Hello! It's Alison, and today I have a cheery card for you to check out. I used the "Sunshine" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, along with the Rose Gift stamp from Stampendous. Yellow brings happiness, so I am thinking this card could be the ray of sunshine that someone needs.
I colored my roses with Zig Clean Color Markers and then fussy cut them out. Of course, the "Sunshine" Sparkle Blend was the perfect choice to go with these roses, as it has different shades of yellow, whites, gold, and iridescent sequins in it. There are even some butterflies, which you can see in my photos.
I used scrap patterned paper that I had in my stash (it feels so good to use scraps, doesn't it?) and i kept my card base white. My sentiment is from Stampendous' "From My Heart" stamp set which I stamped in brown.
One of my favorite shaker window shapes is definitely oval. It's simple and elegant, and I like to make my stamped images curve around it. After I assembled my card, I added some sequins to the outside, adhering the them with On Point Glue from Imagine.

Hey!

Greetings! Alison here. Today, I've got a shaker card to share that uses a Sparkle Blend I hadn't played with before. I really love the colors in the Grandma's Knit Sweater Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, but it hadn't worked with the cards I've made lately. Today, the array of colors in the Blend are just perfect with the colors on my card...and there are a lot!
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Hey-1-600.jpg
I had colored that pretty Laurel Burch image (from Stampendous' Geo Flora Wishes stamp set) quite some time ago. Originally, I thought I was going to use it for a bookmark. But I am glad I didn't because I love it on this card. I gold heat embossed it and then colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. After I fussy cut it, I chose a Fitted Frame that was a good size to go with my image.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Hey-2.jpg
I chose a navy blue mat to cover my white card base, and I outlined my window with a metallic gold pen to help it stand out. I used the Simon Says Stamp & CZ Design Everett Solid Die Cut Letters for my sentiment, which I spritzed with Dylusions Spray. I knew that under my shaker window I needed something vibrant, so I grabbed a piece of an alcohol ink background that I made, and added that.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Hey-3.jpg
You can see the gorgeous mix of colors in this Sparkle Blend in the photos above. Blues, purple, green, orange, red, and iridescent...it's really beautiful, and totally reminds me a of a sweater that a grandma would have knit in the 70's. There's even a large sequin with stars on it!

I love that there's no black or white on this card. I find that too often I rely on those two colors, but shaking things up and using navy, brown, or grey makes a card a little more unexpected. I needed something bright and bold right now. The weather has been so gray, and I'm just getting over a cold, so these vibrant colors were just what I needed.
