Pawsome Birthday

Hello! Alison here. Today I have a birthday shaker card that features the "Pawsome" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I paired it with a stamp that's actually from a Lawn Fawn Christmas set, but it is totally adaptable for birthdays.
I started off by stamping the presents from Lawn Fawn's "Simply Celebrate Winter" set on to watercolor paper and partially die cutting a rectangle window with a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Then I cut around the gifts with an X-Acto knife. Next, I watercolored the presents with my Koi watercolor set from Sakura. I kept the Sparkle Blend in front of me as I painted, so I made sure to use colors that worked with it.
I decided I wanted the top layer to have a little more color, so I used "Rose Bud" and "Danube Blue" Fireworks! Spray from Imagine. I shook the bottles then removed the nozzle and tapped the straw from the nozzle to get my splatters. I made sure to cover my painted presents too so that there wouldn't be any splatters on them. In the photo above, you can see how pretty the colors are in the Pawsome Sparkle Blend. I left the Fimo paws and animals out of this card because I just wanted it to be a generic birthday card, without animals in it. I'll use them another time.
I backed my shaker window with a very old scrap from K & Co. Are they even still around? I loved them.... But I digress.....then I adhered my shaker panel to a white card base. My watercolor paper isn't pure white, but I like the slight difference in colors between the base and top panel.

Because the gifts are small and simple in design, they can get colored or painted quickly. The design is also fast to duplicate. The trickiest part is cutting the top of the gifts, but you could always stamp the presents separately, fussy cut them, and then adhere them to your shaker window. I just wanted this card to have a smooth top layer. The Pawsome Sparkle Blend has such fun and cheery colors, I knew it would be great for a birthday card. Be sure to head over to the White Rose Crafts shop to see all of the currently available Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Pawsome Pets

EK Gorman, Doodles Paper Playground, Pet Paws a

Hey Friends.  It's EK, I am popping in today because I have the privilege of guest designing over at Doodles Paper Playground.  Today I am playing with the new Pets Sparkle Sparkle Blend sequin pack.

I started by stamping out this cute puppy from the Woodware A Dogs Life stamp set.  I then colored it up with some copic markers.  I then fussy cut out the image.

I then created an A2 card frame out of some Juniper Berry Petallics cardstock.  I layered some Craft Creations Pink Shimmer Paper and Craft Creations Pink Texture with Silver Foil paper.  I then adhered the stamped image on top of the layered papers.

I then applied a thick line of glue to the card and sprinkled some Pawsome Pets Sparkle Blends sequins onto the glue.  I was hoping the sequins would look like the cloud of dust the pup was stirring up from his skateboard.

I stamped out a sentiment and some extra paws onto the card, plus added a few more sequins.

Pawsome Pug

Hi, it's Phoenix. Today I am showing you my "Pawsome Pug" card. I was inspired by the new Pawsome Pets Sparkle Blend and the Bah Hum-Pug stamp set from Clearly Besotted. I really like the animal Fimo pieces in the Pawsome Pets Sparkle Blend. I also used some of the Citrine and Apple for Teacher Sparkle Blend.
First, I cut out the cream colored mat for the card. Then, I stamped the pug and colored and cut him out. I colored the pug with Tombow Dual Brush Markers. I knew before I started making the card that I wanted to have the sequins radiate out from the star on the pug, so I had to complete him first.
Next I attached the pug to the mat. After that, I started putting on sequins from the Pawsome Pets Sparkle Blend using On Point Glue. I started by putting on the yellows from Pawsome Pets and Citrine, and then worked my way out to the purples, then the blues. You can see a lot of the Fimo animal heads and paws in the picture above.
After I finished gluing on the sequins, I thought that the card needed more at the top, so I stamped on the sentiment from the Bah Hum-Pug stamp set and glued on a few more sequins in paw shapes around the sentiment. It took a long time to glue all the sequins on, but I really enjoyed making it.

Finally, I glued the mat on to the white card base. I'm really happy with how the colors radiate out from the pug. And, I like the variations of shapes and colors in the Sparkle Blends. You can check out all of the available Sparkle Blends at the White Rose Crafts shop. Thanks for looking at my post today. Have a great day!
