Steampunk Window

Hi, it's Phoenix. Today I am here with my Steampunk Window card. I am really excited about this card that I thought up myself. I knew that I wanted to make something with the Grid Window cover die from Mama Elephant, so I decided to make a steampunk window. I really like gears and I thought it would look really good with a Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground.
I started off by die cutting a Reveal Wheel front (from Lawn Fawn) for under the Grid Window with gray cardstock. After that, I used a paper cutter to trim a hole in the front for the acetate that would expose the actual wheel that I was going to add underneath. Then I die cut the Reveal Wheel itself, and I embossed a Gears stencil from Dreamweaver (Stampendous) on it with a die cutting machine. I wanted to make the gears stand out so I applied some metallic rub-on pigment.
Next I glued on some watch parts that my mom had gotten from her dad a long time ago. I glued them on with On Point Glue. I then die cut the Grid Window and glued more watch parts on to it. Then I looked through all of our Sparkle Blends to see which one i wanted to use. There were a lot of good options like All That Glitters, Gingerbread Man, and Bells are Ringing, but I thought that Celebrate would look best with the steampunk theme.
The Celebrate Sparkle Blend is full of metallic colors so I thought that it would work out really well. I really like the coppery sequins in it. Once I had added the sequins, I decided to put it on to the Reveal Wheel window. I glued the window on to the card base, but I thought that it needed a little bit more, so I put more of the metallic rub-on pigment on the edge and glued on a few more sequins.
I am extremely satisfied with how it came out because I really like steampunk things and I think it's a cool way to use the Reveal Wheel. I think it's a lot of fun to come up with new ways to use paper crafting supplies. Thanks for visiting. Have a good day!

Sparkly Lattes

Hello! It's Alison and today I've got a new card that has a teeny shaker in it. I love to put shakers in unexpected places, and this is one of them. I chose to use the Gingerbread Man Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground.
I colored the Gal from Vera Lane's Coffee Lover Gal set during the last 30 Day Coloring Challenge from The Daily Marker with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I chose to pair her with the cup that's in Lawn Fawn's Thanks a Latte stamp set. I stamped a background with them in VersaFine ink and then I heat embossed the background with Ivory embossing powder from Stampendous.
To color in the cups, I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens, as I didn't want in-your-face color, but I definitely wanted a lot of sparkle. They worked perfectly on my brown cardstock. You can see the small window I cut out for my shaker. It was very easy to do, especially since I had the embossed lines as a guide. My X-Acto knife made it nice and quick.
I added some additional sequins to the outside of the card, as I usually do, especially when my shaker window is small. I adhered all of the sequins with On Point Glue, which is my absolute favorite liquid adhesive.
I mounted the shaker panel on to a cream card base, and used the same cardstock for my sentiment strip, which I stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento ink.
I love all of the sparkle on this card, not only from the markers, but of course from the beautiful, rich Gingerbread Man Sparkle Blend. It has such yummy browns and just enough glitter sequins in it. Please be sure to visit White Rose Crafts to see this and all of the other available Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Multi Crystal Card

Hi, it's Phoenix. I made this card for Doodles Paper Playground using the Majestic Sparkle Blend. I was looking though my supplies, and I found the background paper with crystals that I used and it inspired me to make this card.
I started off by drawing and coloring the purple crystals. I free-hand drew them, and colored them with Memento Markers. Then I cut them out. After that, I assembled the shaker. I used and oval die from Elizabeth Crafts Designs, and filled the shaker with the Majestic Sparkle Blend. I chose that Blend because I thought the color would look good against the yellows, the blues, and the purples I had on the card so far.
After that, I glued on the trim with the crystals on it, but I thought t needed a little bit more, so I added the blue ribbon to it. I thought that it looked really good now, so I decided that it was complete.
I really like how the card turned out because I like how all the colors go together. I especially like the large pink glittery sequins in the Majestic Sparkle Blend. You can see all of the available Sparkle Blends over at White Rose Crafts. Thanks for reading. Have a nice day!

Unicorn and Flowers

Hi, it's Rhiannon. I made this card for my friend's birthday. I like using flowers on my cards, so the Flower Power Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground was perfect.
I saw the unicorn stamp from Lawn' Fawn's Critter Ever After set, and thought it would be really cute. I stamped it with VersaFine ink in Black Onyx and colored it in with Memento Markers, which are my favorite. Then I took the clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Marker and colored the whole unicorn with it, except for the hooves and the horn. For those, I used a gold glitter marker from Crayola's "Art with Edge" collection. Then I die cut the unicorn. I also stamped, cut, and colored 3 stars.
I did my background next. I cut a small mat and inked the Spectrum Kaleidacolor ink pad from Imagine on to a brayer. After I rolled the ink on to my paper, I used Gold Sheer Shimmer Spritz all over the background.
Then I made the card base and glued the background on to it. Next I glued on the unicorn and stars. After that, I took out the Flower Power Sparkle Blend and chose some flowers. I like this Sparkle Blend because of the all the different colors and shapes of the flowers. I positioned the flowers and then glues them with On Point Glue from Imagine.
I like how I put the cluster of flowers by the unicorn's feet to look like she was stepping on them. Softly of course. I like how I scattered all the other flowers around it. I think this Sparkle Blend was really cut to use with the unicorn and the multicolored background. You can get many of the products I used today from White Rose Crafts. Have a good day!

Little Boo Shaker

Greetings! Alison here. Today I have a TWELVE window shaker (using six Sparkle Blends!) to share with you, and I hope you think it's as adorable as I do. I recently went to an event with Mama Elephant in NYC with my husband and I bought some of their newest stamps and dies. We had an amazing time. My card today uses Little Boo Agenda, which was previously released. I couldn't wait to use it.
Just look at these adorable ghosties! There are even more in the stamp set that I didn't use on this card. But don't worry, I'll use them on something soon. When I first saw the Grid Window cover die, I knew it was absolutely perfect for shaker cards. And the "Agenda" stamps (basically teeny images that are great for planners as well as cards) fit so well within the windows.
I die cut the Grid Window with gray cardstock, and I also cut a sheet of white craft foam with it to make creating the shakers easier. I used Tear It! Tape from Imagine (which is 1/4" wide) to adhere all of my layers together. After I had colored my ghosts, I began to place them and choose my Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I really love how the two little ghosts above turned out.
There are so many beautiful Sparkle Blends to choose from, but only two of the ones I used today actually fell into the "Halloween" category. That means you can really stretch the Blends you may already have on hand to make them work for many occasions. In the photo above, you can see Orange You Glad, Green with Envy, Dragon Glass, and Mardi Gras Parade.
The other two Sparkle Blends that I used are Trick or Treat and Something Wicked. Although it takes some time to put the individual Blends into each shaker window, the ghosts (and other Agenda stamps) don't take long to color, so the time evens itself out.
I colored the ghosts with Zig Clean Color Markers, and my background was done with Distress Oxides in Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, and Lucky Clover.
I really love this card, and I can't wait to play with all of these elements in different ways very soon. I have two other "Agenda" stamp sets from Mama Elephant, and I know that they'll be perfect with this Grid Window and Sparkle Blends. And of course, I love how this cover die showcases the many Sparkle Blends I used on this card. They all stand out, and I don't think they are overwhelming because i was careful to not overfill the windows. Be sure to visit White Rose Crafts to see all of the currently available Sparkle Blends. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Thankful Shaker Card

Hello Crafty Friends - I am here with a fall shaker card using Doodle Paper Playground Sparkle Blend: Be-Leaf in Yourself.

No photo description available.
This festive seasonal blend is packed full of tiny little leaves and sequins in various textures,
finishes and shades of orange, red, yellow & brown—making it perfect for all of your autumn projects.

This is the card I created.

I used plenty of die-cut leaves and filled the shaker with the Be-Leaf in Yourself sparkle blend to give the card a true fall feel. I used the thankful from Lawn Fawn's So thankful for you die. I simply trimmed it.

Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope you found some inspiration!

Blowing Bubbles

Hello! Today I have a clean and simple shaker card to share with you. I was at a Scrapbook Expo last month and I came a cross the Let the Wind Carry You die set from Altenew. The stamps weren't available, but based on the simple shapes of the dies, I knew I could get them to work for shaker cards beautifully.
I love the silhouette of the little girl, and that large bubble die is just perfect for a shaker. I chose to use the Pearl Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground for the bubble. This Blend is filled with white, irridecent, and pearly sequins. Plus, there are beads, tine sequin flowers, and mylar tubes. It's lovely.
I backed my shaker window with a soft pink harlequin paper that I had in my stash. I also decided to softly ink the edges of my top layer with Tumbled Glass and Spun Sugar Distress Oxides, to mimic the iridescent colors in the Pearl Sparkle Blend. I used makeup blending brushes for a very soft wash of color. Lastly, I topped off my card with a sentiment from one of my favorite sentiment sets. It's from Hero Arts and is called You are Loved. One thing I love about this set is that a portion of the proceeds go to the Kind Campaign, to help their efforts in ending bullying.
I think the bold shapes of this card make a statement, even though it's a clean and simple card. I love the Pearl Sparkle Blend in the bubble, though I can envision a lot of other Sparkle Blends being used too, like Pixie Dust. You can check out all of the available Sparkle Blends over at White Rose Crafts, as they are the exclusive retailer. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Tiny Coffee Shakers

Hello! Alison here. Today I am sharing two cards that both use the same stamp, but I gave them each different shaker windows. I used the Pumpkin Latte stamps set from Stampendous, which actually has two pumpkins on the label area of the cup. But, since I turned the labels into shakers, I can change the feel of the image from being very Fall-ish, to working for any season (or no season at all!). Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground will work with pretty much any color combo, since there are so many Blends available!
I started off by coloring the coffee cups, and then helped me to determine which Sparkle Blend I wanted to use, as well as the shape of the shaker window.
For the blue card, I used the Frozen Sparkle Blend, along with a small die from Lawn Fawn's Thanks a Latte die set. I used some Lawn Fawn plaid paper, and an older sentiment from Stampendous. I inked the sentiment with VersaFine Clair ink in Twilight, which is one of my favorite colors to use for sentiments. I also added some sequins to the front of my card using On Point Glue.
For my pink and purple card, I opted to use the Garnet Sparkle Blend. I chose to use a heart die from Stampendous' Wings Die Set.
I knew I wanted to make this card look very different from the blue card, so instead of using patterned paper, I decided to use one of Stampendous' beautiful 6" x 6" stamps. This one is called Moroccan, and I love it. I heat embossed it with the deep purple embossing powder from the Floral Garden Embossing Powder set. Then I inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Oxide and Vintage Photo Distress Ink (yup, I used to different styles of inks).

I also used plain pink cardstock and spritzed it with Lilac Posies Fireworks! Spray from Imagine. Then I inked my sentiment with VersaFine Clair ink in Fantasia. I also added some sequins to the front of this card as well. So there you go! Two totally different cards, that have slightly altered focal images that make adorable little shakers. Pixie Dust Fairy

Hi, this is Rhiannon. Today I have a card that I made very quickly because I used things that were already colored and cut. I used the Pixie Dust Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground because I thought it went really good with the fairy and butterflies.
I started by picking the flower background paper that I had gotten from Amber (the owner of Doodles Paper Playground....she sent me all of the things I used on this card today), and the Blue Iridescent Shimmer paper. Then I found the holographic card base and thought it looked really good with what I already chose. Then I cut the two papers and glued them to the card base.
Next, I got out the fairy and butterflies and glued them to the card. It was quick and easy to put this card together because the images were already cut and colored. I chose my Pixie Dust Sparkle Blend and arranged them throughout the card. I layered some of the sequins because I thought it would look really cool like that. I used On Point Glue for the Sparkle Blend. It is really strong and I like that it's clear.
I really like how this card turned out. It's super shiny and pretty. I like how the layered sequins looks with the rest of the card and the Pixie Dust Sparkle Blend has a lot of nice colors in it. You can get this and all of the other Sparkle Blends at the White Rose Crafts shop. You can use my mom's code, "Alison 15" to save 15% off of your purchase. Thank you for reading. Have a nice day!
