Shaker Planner Clip

Easter Egg Shaker Planner Clip

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I made a cute little Easter egg planner clip to use on my planner.

I used a die from Lawn Fawn and die cute two colored bases,
an acetate base and the top layer with the cut outs.

I layered the acetate base with the top panel and then added
a layer of foam to the back.

I filled it with the littlest pieces from the Eater Basket mix.
I used one of the pink bases to close the back.

Now to turn it into a planner clip!

I placed my second die cut base in the paperclip.
I like my clip to actually sit inside my planner not stick out of the top so
I place my items lower down on the paper clip.
I covered the base with hot glue and then place the completed shaker on top.

That's it!

I love making these little clips and love that most of the sparkle blends
have pieces that are the perfect size for this!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this project I used the Easter Basket sparkle blend.

Boy Bunny Shaker

Greetings! Alison here. I have a shaker card to share today that I made for Phoenix for Easter. I recently printed a bunch of digital images from The Greeting Farm, including Easter Basket Ian and Easter Basket Anya, and I knew that I needed to make cards for both of my kids with them. This was also the perfect time to make them each shaker cars, using Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. for Phoenix, I used the "Easter Basket" Sparkle Blend. And you'll have to wait and see what I did for Miss Rhiannon.

I colored my Eater Basket Ian with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. After I fussy cut him, I looked through some backgrounds I had made previously to see if I could use any of them. The one I chose was made with gelatos and The Rabbit Hole Designs' "Diamond Flower" stencil. I love the ghost-like effect you can get when using gelatos with stencils.

Here you can see some of the fun little shapes in the "Easter Basket" Sparkle Blend. There are large, dimensional flowers, teeny bunny heads, swirls, itty bitty flowers, beads, and many other things. And the color palette is soft and pretty.

Sending Happy Thoughts

Hello! Alison here. I have a new shaker card to share with you to hopefully help chase away the Winter doldrums. I wanted to make something bright and cheery, so I looked through my Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground and decided that Easter Basket was the right color story for what I wanted to create.
Using the Easter Basket Sparkle Blends as a guide, I looked through my stash of backgrounds that I created and came across the one I used behind my shaker panel. It was done by swiping alcohol inks on a piece of glossy photo paper. The colors were perfect!
Next, I chose a floral stamp, which happened to be Cosmos Friend from Stampendous. I stamped it on to a piece of Smooth Bristol cardstock from Strathmore using VersaFine Ink. For my shaker window, I partially die cut an oval from Elizabeth Craft Designs. For the area where my flowers would have been cut off by the oval, I fussy cut with my scissors. I decided to tear up the edges a bit, so I used my Heidi Swapp Edge Distressor.
I used foam tape from Brutus Monroe because it's super thick and allows the large beads that are in the Blend to move pretty freely. As I was filling my shaker window, I found that I needed to add some more "plain" sequins to the mix. I wanted to just round out the look a bit, based on what the rest of the card looked like, so I grabbed the "Majestic" Sparkle Blend and added some round pinks and a few whites. But Easter Basket is still the star of the show. I inked the edges of my white card base with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, just for a little extra pop of color. I also added a Tiny Words sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and colored it with one of my Zigs.

You can see in the photo above just how pretty the "Easter Basket" Sparkle Blend really is. It has so many sizes and shapes, and the colors are just lovely. I colored my Cosmos to coordinate with the Blend. Did you know that Doodles Paper Playground is opening their own shop? You can no longer get Sparkle Blends from White Rose Crafts. They are currently only available on Facebook, but starting in February, they'll have their own shop on Etsy! If you'd like to see the available Blends (remember, all Sparkle Blends are a 1 time run, so once they're gone, they are gone forever!), head to the temporary Facebook Shop HERE. I'll be back very soon with another new project. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Sparkle Blend Canvas

EK Gorman, DPP Blend canvas a
Hey Everyone!  It is EK Gorman from ekgorman designs and I popping in today as a guest designer today!  Do you ever find that you have too many sequins lying around and don't know what to do with them?

Well, today I am sharing a really fun way to help deplete your stash!  It started with my kiddo who asked for a canvas that was nothing but sequins...an obvious request by an eight year old girl.  But how do you create a canvas that is just sequins...  Well I figured out a method and I thought you might enjoy seeing the process.

IMG_5901
I started with a 4x4x1.5 inch canvas I picked up at my local box store.  I also grabbed some metallic blue acrylic paint.

IMG_5902
I painted the sides of the canvas with the metallic canvas, leaving the top white.

IMG_5903
Then using some rose colored wax, I blended a little around the top of the canvas.

IMG_5904
Then to hold the sparkle blends to the canvas, I spread a thick layer of Golden Heavy Gel medium.

IMG_5905
I then added some Conversation Hearts sparkle blends to the gel, pressing the sequins into the medium.

IMG_5906
I then repeated the process with both the Springtime blend and Easter Basket blend.  I left a little line between each group so that they would not mix.

IMG_5907
I then added some Liquitex Matte Medium over the blends to help lock the sequins into place.

IMG_5909
Then poured some Clear Tar Gel over the whole canvas.

IMG_5910

The Clear Gel is self leveling and will really seal the blend under a protective silicon over everything, forever locking the sequins into place.

IMG_5911
I let the tar run over the edges to create some more visual interest on the canvas.  It takes 24 hours for the clear tar to cure, but when it does it is transparent and ultra shinny!

When the tar finishes curing, you end up with a little piece of art!

I just love how the light catches this mini canvas.  Needles to say, my child has already hung this bit of girly goodness in her room!

Hello Spring Shaker

Hello! Alison here. We're finally really feeling Spring in New York, and I am so happy about it. I'm not a fan of the cold at all, and seeing the flowers begin to pop out of the ground makes me feel so good. The beautiful weather we've been having really inspired my shaker card for today. Also, I've been really loving the rainbow backgrounds that Laura Bassen makes, so she also inspired me.
I knew I wanted to make a shaker, so I began to play with different elements. First, I colored these chicks from the Simply Celebrate stamp set from Lawn Fawn, and I fussy cut them. I colored them with Zig Clean Color Markers, and the colors I used helped me to choose what Distress Oxides I would use for my background. These colors also helped me to choose which Sparkle Blend(s) from Doodles Paper Playground that I wanted to use, which turned out to be Easter Basket with a little bit of Springtime.
I thought the Petals Background stencil from Stampendous went really well not only with the chicks, but the Sparkle Blends too. I used Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxides with Mini Ink Blending Tools. The rainbow these colors created is just beautiful, and I will need to use this combination again. You can see in the photo above the soft, pretty colors and fun shapes in the Sparkle Blends. Look at the little bunny heads and swirls!
The window was created with a Lawn Fawn die from the Magic Color Slider Die set, and I backed the shaker window with a piece of Lawn Fawn cardstock from the Really Rainbow 6" x 6" pack. I topped the window with a Sugar Script "hello" die cut from Birch Press. I loved pulling together all of these elements and colors. I think this finished card is adorable.
As a reminder, Doodles Paper Playground came out with 6 new Sparkle Blends this month. If you haven't checked them out, you can go back to view previous blog posts here, as well as going to the White Rose Crafts LLC shop. White Rose Crafts is the exclusive retailer for Sparkle Blends. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Some Bunny Loves You

Some Bunny Loves You

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started this card by die cutting all of my pieces.

I placed the grass on the top pane, added acetate to the window
and stamped this cute bunny sentiment.

I stamped this cute little bunny and Easter egg form Lawn Fawn.
I added them to my card under the sentiment with foam tape.

I attached my base panel to my card base and laid out my sequins.
I added a few more Easter eggs in the grass
and sprinkled a few more sequins across the card.

I used the new Sparkle Blends Easter basket
I love the cute little bunny heads and mini flowers!
