Hope Your Holidays Are Poppin!

Hope Your Holidays Are Poppin!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Hello!
I hope that you have been having a very happy holiday!

I saw a card in one of my Facebook groups and had to steal this sentiment!
I absolutely love it!

Obviously it is perfect to use with the Lawn Fawn Let's Toast set.

I decided to use a pop tart for this and wanted to add a Santa hat, I created a mask of the Santa hat using sticker paper. I stamped out the hat, applied the sticker and then stamped the tart.
I used two techniques to color the tart and hat, copic and colored pencils and gamsol. I also added fake fluffy snow to the Santa hat.

For the toaster I just used grey copics.

I was able to piece together the sentiment using a line from the Merry Mice set and then used Quinn's ABC's for the Poppin. I colored it in with colored pencil and gamsol to match my pink theme.

I used the Let's Toast pull tab add on to create the interactive portion of my card.

Then I added individual sequins to give my card sparkle!
These sequins matched my pink Christmas theme perfectly!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I used the The Little Piggy Sparkle Blend.
These large sequins are perfect pink iridescence!

Card #3 in the Sparkle Blends/Lawn Fawn Series

Greetings! Alison here. Today I have the third card in my shaker card series that uses a Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, along with a stamp from Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Winter set. I had yet to use the "Lights in the Forest" Sparkle Blend (which is a real shocker because I absolutely love this one!), so I was really excited to create this card. If you've missed the first two cards in this series, please click HERE and HERE.

I started off by coloring the trees from the Simply Celebrate Winter set with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Again, these stamps are fantastic because they are really quick to color. After I fussy cut them out, I began to work on my background. I ink blended my top panel with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink (I don't own Chipped Sapphire in an Oxide, which is why I switched to Ink). I started in the upper center of the panel with the Peacock Feathers and worked my way out to the darker tones. Then I splattered water on the panel to lift some of the color. Next, I went in with a gold watercolor from Fine Tec and created smaller splatters. I knew this would look beautiful with the Lights in the Forest Sparkle Blend. Then I heat embossed my sentiment with Detail Silver embossing powder.

I used an older snowflake die from Stampendous to cut out my window. It's a wonderful size for a shaker. You can see how unique this Blend is in the photo above. I really love the spiral sequins and the polka dots. The satin finish on the sequins is really magical too. I backed my window with a glitter cardstock from DCWV and used a Sparkle Marker on the border of my card base in a rich, midnight blue.

I think this is my favorite card in the series so far. Those blues are so beautiful together, and I really adore the "Lights in the Forest" Sparkle Blend. Up next will probably be the ornaments. Warm and Wonderful Christmas

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1890.jpg

Hey Friends! Today I am playing around with some non holiday Sparkle Blends and yet creating a Christmas Card. I wanted to see if there were any older blends that were meant for other seasons that could become beautiful non traditional holiday themed. I found that the Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend was perfect for a southwestern Christmas.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1883.jpg

I started by pulling the Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend and an older distress oxide ink paper I had laying around in my stash. I wish I could tell you what colors I used on this piece of paper, but it is so old I can only guess. I think I was Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemon and maybe abandoned Coral.

I then stamped a holiday image from Art Impressions and traced out a horizon and sun that could become my shaker.

Using my xacto knife, I cut out the sun.

Using my derwent watercolor pencils, I colored in the image. I enhanced the white parts with my Posca pen.

I assembled and filled the shaker with the Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend. I added to the edges some Ripe Persimmon Distress Markers to help make the sun be even more vibrant. (I should have colored the card frame a vibrate yellow so the sun would be yellow under the Blend.)

I stamped a sentiment in the same Ripe Persimmon Distress Marker ink and added a few more Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend sequins to finish the card.

What non-holiday Sparkle Blend would you use to create a Christmas Card? Let me know in the comments below. Until then Happy Crafting.

Frosted Gingerbread Shaker

Hello! Alison here. I've got a new shaker card to share with you today. I have the Simply Celebrate Winter stamp set from Lawn Fawn, and truthfully, I haven't used it much. So I thought it would be fun to make a shaker card using each of the stamps in that set. I may not get to all of them this month, but I am going to certainly try. Doodles Paper Playground has so many amazing Sparkle Blends to choose from, that I know it won't be hard to pair a stamp with the perfect sequin mix. Today's card uses the gingerbread folks stamp with the Frosted Gingerbread Sparkle Blend.

Coloring the gingerbread cookies was easy. I used only 5 Zig markers for them and then fussy cut the strip out. I had some frosty pink snowflake paper from Wild Rose Studio that worked really well with the Frosted Gingerbread Sparkle Blend. The only problem was that the paper is 6x6, and it has some distressing around the edges. So when I cut my paper down, the distressing was cut off of 2 sides. So I applied some Tattered Rose Distress Ink direct to the paper to coordinate with what's printed on the other two sides. I also used a blending brush to soften the inner area a bit. I think it's hard to tell which sides I actually inked up, which makes me happy. I didn't want to cut off the distressing, so this was the perfect solution.

Above, you can see how "sweet" this Sparkle Blend really is! There are different sizes of gingerbread cookies, as well as adorable kawaii cupcakes and peppermint swirls. That's not even to mention all of the beautiful sequins! I used a scallop die from Stampendous for my shaker window and a brown patterned paper for behind it. I adhered a few sequins to the top of my card too, with On Point Glue. I inked my card base with more Tattered Rose Distress Ink. I really wanted to use a mint green, to go with the cupcakes, but I didn't have the right shade of ink. Inside of the shaker, I used foam tape from Pear Blossom Press.

Because the Simply Celebrate images are small and quick to color, I got this shaker card made in a pretty short amount of time. I think it's entirely possible to get a set of these made before Christmas. We'll see! Please be sure to visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy. Winter is Warmer Together

Greetings! Alison here. I have a fun shaker card to share with you today that uses the "Hello Frosty" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I was really inspired by the pink sequins in this Blend, so I decided to use a flamingo from Stampendous' "Peeking Pals" stamp set.

My flamingo needed a little something to keep her warm, so I added a hat from Stampendous' "Winter Pals" stamp set. I colored the hat and flamingo with Copic markers. My shaker panel (which has the flamingo stamped directly on it) was created with Stampendous' "Winter White" stamps and dies, which unfortunately I don't think are available anymore. But, there are many other snowflake stamps and dies out there, so I am sure you could achieve a similar look.

My snowflakes were stamped with VersaFine Clair Ink in Twilight. I did my die cutting first, so that I could stamp my snowflakes around the window. You can see here the pretty colors of the "Hello Frosty" Sparkle Blend, as well as a couple of the teeny clay snowmen and snowflakes that are in it. I love the cool colors in this Blend. Behind my window, I added a patterned paper scrap that I had, plus I stamped a sentiment to put on top. My card base was ink blended with Speckled Egg and Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink.

I really like the addition of pink in this card, instead of keeping to only blue tones for a winter card. It not only adds a little warmth, but it also adds some fun pops of additional color. Please visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy to see "Hello Frosty" as well as all of the other limited edition Sparkle Blends. I can’t wait to see what you make! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Vintage Christmas Wreath

Hey Friends! I am doing a little Guest Designing today for Doodle Paper Playground today. They just released a brand new collection of Sparkle Blends Sequins, and they are a really fun assortment of winter blends. However, I am not quite ready to move away from Christmas Projects, so I pulled out the new Mulled Wine Sparkle Blend to create a vintage holiday card.

I started by die cutting some Kraft paper with a Christmas Wreath die.

Using both Crushed Olive and Pine Needles Distress Oxides, I blended ink onto the die cut.

I build up a card frame with Kraft Paper and printed holiday paper. I adhered the paper wreath onto the card frame. Then using the the Mulled Wine Sparkle Blends, I had glued each sequin onto the wreath as if they were christmas baubles.

I die cut a banner with some more kraft paper and stamped a sentiment onto it. I adhered some red glitter washi tape onto the card, and layered the banner onto it. I added a few more sequins to the banner.

What do you think? Did the Mulled Wine Sparkle Blend seqins look vintage? Let me know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.

And make sure you pop over and check out the whole new collection of Sparkle Blends. And if you want to save 10% on your order feel free to use the code EKGORMAN10

Friends Don't Give Friends Fruitcake

Hi Everyone! For your Wednesday pleasure, Friends Don't Give Friends Fruitcake!

I am playing with Sparkle Blends Merry and Bright. And what I love about this blend is that it is a non traditional blend for the holidays. I will definitely need more of this one to be sure, because it works so well for so many different ideas around the holidays.

With this I have used All Bundled Up 6x6 paper pad along with dies from North Pole Kit all from Queen and Company, along with some circle dies from The Stamps Of Life to present to you this fun holiday card!

So head over to the Sparkle Blends Shop. Grab your favorites from the October release. Ok, they are ALL fabulous so maybe grab them all while they are still available! And as always, take a look on the Doodles Paper Playground blogFacebook page and in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on Facebook to see all the fun things going on!

I do hope you enjoy this projects and can't wait to see what you create!

Hugs!

All I want for Christmas - Unicorn Chill

 All I want for Christmas. . .

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I used these cute unicorns from Clearly Besotted.
I colored them with colored pencils and gamsol.

I die cute my base panel and my top panel with the shaker window.

I used a little distressed ink on the edges of my top panel and stamped the sentiment in purple.

I laid out my sequins and placed the top panel.

I decided I would use two of the unicorns and placed them on opposite sides of the card.

I added sequins on the front and filled them with glossy accents.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I used the Unicorn Chill Sparkle Blend mix.
This is my favorite holiday color mix!
