Guest Post by Designing Diva: Cheryl Schoeman - Bright Flowers

Bright Flowers

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi everyone! I am back with a new card using Doodle’s Paper Playground’s Well, Yellow There Sparkle Blend.
I started this card by stamping the flowers on white cardstock and then die cutting the centers out of two of them. I colored them with spectrum noir sparkle pens and then adhered acetate to the back. On a top folding A2 card, I blended distress ink where the cut outs would show through.  Then I added foam tape to the back of my cardstock panel, added the sparkle blend and stuck the top folding card on top. The last steps were to stamp the sentiment and add a butterfly and flower sequin (to cover up a mistake ;) ).
Supplies:
Stamps: W plus 9 – Doodle buds; Concord and 9th – Everyday greetings
Inks: Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens; Distress ink – dried marigold; Versafine – black
Guest Post by Designing Diva: Alison Heikkila - Super Duper
Super Duper Shaker
Using Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends Cotton Candy (retired)
Hello! It’s Alison. Today I am sharing a really fun shaker card with Cotton Candy Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I just bought the whole "How You Bean?" set from Lawn Fawn, specifically to use with the many Sparkle Blends I have in my stash.
I typically prefer bright, bold colors...but there's something so fabulous about the Cotton Candy Sparkle Blend. Yup, it's definitely super sweet, but it's also opalescent and shiny. It's one of my favorite Sparkle Blends. Also inside the jar are a few stars that come with the How You Bean Add On Die set, and I stamped faces on a few of them, which I think makes the shaker even more joyful.
My background was created with a leftover piece of watercolor paper that had been dipped in in Distress Oxide Inks. Then I stenciled the Waves and Dots stencil from Stampendous with Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.
In the photo above, you can see all of the tiny elements that make up this particular Sparkle Blend. I love the itty bitty opalescent stars, as well as the crystals. There are even some butterflies! My sentiment was created with a couple of Lawn Fawn stamp sets. The "Everything is" and "fun with you" is from the Love You S'more set, and the "super duper is from the new Reveal Wheel Sentiments. I added a piece of patterned paper to the bottom of the card to create a ground for the jar to sit on.
I tell ya, shaker cards just make people happy. I was showing the completed card to my husband, kids, and my mom, and their faces just lit right up. They couldn't stop shaking them, and they just kept telling me how fun shakers are. So if you need to brighten someone's day, give them a shaker. You'll be seeing a lot of these jars from me, as I think they will be great for so many occasions. Changing out the Sparkle Blends inside will totally change the mood of the jar. I may just be trying it out with one of the new releases that will be coming out next month!
Guest Post by Designing Diva: Fawn Kuehne - Star Shaker Gift Tags
Star Shaker Gift Tags
Using Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends Orange You Glad
& Green With Envy
My sister had babies. . . Twins.
Almost two years ago!
We are getting ready to attend their birthday and
wanted to make some super special
gift tags for their gifts
I used a banner die from Craftin Desert Divas for my tag shape.
I didn't have room on my tags for full names so
I just did initials with Lawn Fawns Quinns Capitol ABCs
I stuck to my star theme and used a
single small star on one of the tags.
For the other tag I used Lawn Fawn
Starry Backdrops.
Fun Part!
I used Jillibean Soup Shape Shakers to
hold my sequins for these tags.
I filled the shape shaker with sequins, removed the backing and placed my tag to cover the back.
To finish the tag I colored in the initial with matching copic markers, punched a hole in the upper corner and used some Lawn Fawn silver and white twine so that I can tie the tag to the gifts.
For this card I used the Sparkle Blend Orange You Glad and Green with Envy
Guest Post by Designing Diva Alison Heikkila: Botanic Hello
Botanic Hello
Using Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends Flaming Sunset
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello! Or should I say, "Botanic Hello?" That's the name of the beautiful (and BIG) stamp from Mama Elephant I used today to show off some stunning sequins from Doodles Paper Playground. Alison here! I chose to work with the Flaming Sunset Sparkle Blends for this card. The colors and styles of sequins in this pack are so unique and bold. I also decided to use a few of the flowers from the Flower Power Sparkle Blend, which is full of nothing but beautiful and bright floral sequins. It's a real beauty!

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLblDgRodWBXW17nQQYpqp-Ra3v522bGxrH_embLQFJbcU-q4_8FhcFHT9ZkBmeOJIvp77ZhArDxc2z0nNRvJA0GhunWcbHM8OhU310uwKuU-WXMZ_xbva_1q8o5_6UbEW7LV8jOj2gyEx/s400/Hello-1.jpg

I first stamped out my image and colored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. To make the "hello" pop, I used a glitter pen from Sakura. Then I gave the image a loose fussy cut, leaving a thin white border around it. Next I chose 2 green pieces of cardstock to add behind my colored image. I thought they really helped the image pop, especially since I left that white border.

Then I chose the sequins I thought went best with the colored image. I played around with the placement a bit and the mix of sequins themselves until I was happy with the various textures and colors. I didn't want to go too matchy-matchy, but rather coordinate with the marker colors I used. I affixed them with On Point Glue from Imagine. That glue has a super fine tip, dries clear, and quickly. I used pop dots on the stamped image to add even more dimension.

There you have it! It's a pretty simple card, but it has lots of glitz. The stamped image is a focal point, but those uniquely shaped sequins certainly hold their own in the spotlight too. I love how this came out, and I can imagine doing this same card in varying colors. A set of them would make a fun gift!

Guest Post By Designing Diva: Cheryl Schoeman - You're A Delight

You're A Delight

Hello! I am back with a project using Doodles Paper Playground's Flamingo Tropic sparkle blend. There are some beautiful pink and green colors in this blend as well as pineapple and flamingo shaped sequins.

I started my card by stamping the pineapple on a side folding A2 card. Then, using my misti, I kept the lower half of the pineapple in place and using it as a guide, I taped the coordinating die in place to a white A2 panel laid on top of my card. After cutting it, I repeated the same process with the top leaf portion so that the colorful stamped area would show through the cutout. I stamped the sentiment on the front of the cut panel.

To put everything together, I adhered a panel of clear acetate to the back of the top panel and then laid foam tape over it. I made sure to have the foam tape cover the thin strip between the bottom and top of the pineapple. On the card base, I piled green sequins to the leaf area and pink sequins to the pineapple. Then I took the backing off the foam tape and laid the top panel in place.

To finish it off, I added a few sequins around the sentiment.

Supplies:
Stamps: Concord & 9th - pop art pineapple, wreath turnabout
Dies: lawnfawn - plastic flamingo; Mama Elephant - mojito, sunshine, blush; Versafine - black

Thanks so much for taking a look at my card!

Guest post by Designing Diva Fawn Kuehne - Life Is Sweet

Life Is Sweet
Using Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends Citrus Twist

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love how this card turned out!
 I used the quilted backdrop die from
Lawn Fawn for my top panel and
 used an oval die to cut my shaker window.
I stamped my images and colored them with Prismacolor colored pencils.
I decided to use this larger sentiment from
Sweet Stamp shop for my sentiment.
I clear heat embossed it just to give it some shine.
I added all my foam adhesive.
I attached two of my images to the base panel
so that they would be inside the shaker and
measured out my sequins. . .
I was kind of worried that I may have had to many sequins but I think it was ok. . .
I added the rest of my images to the front and also added a few sequins from the pack.
For this card I used the Sparkle Blend Citrus Twist
This blend is really cute! I love the yellow and orange combo in it and it had all kinds of little fimo fruits!
Guest Post by Designing Diva, Alison Heikkila - Birthday Bash
Birthday Bash
Using Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends Birthday Bash
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hello! Alison here. My husband's birthday was at the end of April, and he loves when I make shaker cards. So, I knew I had to make one for him using one of the latest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I decided to go with the Birthday Bash Sparkle Blends, because he loves bright, bold colors and because...well....it is a birthday card. ;) In this blend,you'll find red, green, purple, blue, and gold sequins. Some are in the shape of balloons! There are also little stars and microbeads. This is definitely a party in a shaker!

Beyond being inspired by Birthday Bash, I had just gotten Altenew's Bells and Bows Stamp Set, and I just had to use that awesome large bow that's in the set. I stamped 3 of the 4 layers using inks from Imagine. Doesn't it look real?!

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKZecx_GQg059CVmHn2MJObs8GRJGJpraeyjc4VqRPqcEUMRZDK9I4WGRTHuzykPewMEhTWAcgnsedGnk_0bTtUlg2KuF1hwFR10znV6OnGAxFKvzoKrkJERsbemI8FCOfpkZu2ZBmn7zU/s400/Gene%2527s-Birthday-2.jpg

My papers are from DCWV, and they have fun metallic turquoise accents on them, which I thought really worked with the Sparkle Blend. If you click on my photo, you can see what's in the shaker a little better. My sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's CZ Design Salty Ladies No. 1. I only stamped the "happy birthday" from this sentiment. The last word is "beyotch" and while I think that's a hysterical sentiment, I didn't really want to call my husband a beyotch. Ha!

Needless to say, my husband LOVED his card. I am really grateful that he appreciates my creations and always likes to learn how I make things. He's going to be shaking this card quite a bit, I think. Make sure you check out the Birthday Bash Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground over at White Rose Crafts LLC. Each Sparkle Blend is limited edition. Thanks for stopping by.
