Gnomey Shaker

Hello.  Gail here and I am so happy to be guest designing for January here at the Doodles Paper Playground.   I was a bit stumped for today's post so I took a look around blogland and came across a challenge that wanted gnomes.  So I'm thinking, do I have any gnomes?  I decided I must have, somewhere, so after a bit of a gnome hunt I found a cute stamp from a company called Panduro and my Gnomey shaker was born.

I used the beautiful Flaming Sunset Sparkle blend for my shaker

A beautiful blend of red, orange and yellow sequins with crystals, seed beads
and colourful spheres.

I started by stamping my gnome on a scrap of white card, colouring with Promarkers and fussy cutting him.  He was sitting on a very inadequate mushroom so I stamped the large mushroom from Visible Image Caterpillar set on patterned paper, fussy cut and added some colour.

I built my shaker using Marianne Dessign papers and dies.  I backed the semi-circle apertures in the die cut with washi tape.  Love that sequin mix.

Hope you like my shaker.  All the sparkle blends are available at White Rose Crafts.  Happy shaking.  Hugz

Hot Pink Eight Pocket Shaker

Hello.  Gail here today guest designing for December and January here at the Doodles Paper Playground.  Today I made a large shaker element for my card.  OK, the whole card is a shaker element! I had a real fun time with this one!!

I did originally intend to add an image and a sentiment but once I had put it together I decided it was too pretty to cover up.  It also means it can be displayed in landscape or portrait, and of course, all those little sequin bits mean you just gotta give it a shake!!

I've used Flamingo Tropic Sparkle Blend.  It's a fun mix of lime green and hot pink with pineapples, palm trees and flamingo's!!  What a blast.

To make my card I used Winnie and Walter's new Peppermint Zone die cut.   I cut it from pink glitter card, purple craft foam and green designer paper.  Then I backed the pink glitter cut with a piece of acetate.

I used a craft knife to remove some of the sections from the green and purple cuts to give me 8 shaker pockets.

Then I layered it all up and Voila!!!  Love that the individual pockets keep the sparkle blend from sinking to the bottom of the card.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you get a chance to be crafty today and play with some sparkle.  Hugz

Snowflake Shaker Card

Hello.  Gail here today and I am so pleased to be guest designing here at the Doodles Paper Playground for December and January.  Today I have a shaker card to share with you using the gorgeous Copper Penny Sparkle Blend

This beautiful blend of metallic orange, browns, greens and gold perfectly complement the blues and whites of winter.

I made my shaker window by cutting a panel of blue card with Stamplorations Double Stitch rectangle.  Then I used a die from Memory Box Gentle Stitched Landscape set.  I used a craft knife to cut around the inner stitch line and also to cut a similar shaped hole in a panel of craft foam.

I stuck the craft foam on a piece of pale blue card, added the Copper Penny Sparkle Blend, a piece of acetate and then the blue cut panel.  I used Memory Box Tivoli Snowflake die to cut the large snowflake and Poppystamps Snowflake Oval Collage to cut the smaller ones from white card.

Hope you enjoy seeing my shaker.   Remember, these blends are all limited edition and available to purchase at White Rose Crafts.  I will be back next month with some more sparkle blend fun, but until then I'd like to take the chance to wish you all a very merry Christmas.  Hugz

Snowman Shaker Card

Hello.  Gail, aka ionabunny, here today and I am so excited to have been asked to guest design for December and January here at the the Doodles Paper Playground.  Have you seen the new release??  So much sparkly fun.  I have made a snowman shaker using the beautiful Icicle sparkle blend and papers and dies from Marianne Design.

Squuueeeeeee!  How cute is that???

Love this cool sparkly mix.  Perfect for your winter makes with shades of white, silver and turquoise and all that sparkle and iridescent loveliness.

I made my shaker element using Marianne Designs Snowman Tag die.  I used white foam and cut it and the patterned paper with the tag outline.  I used blue paper for the base, added the foam and sparkle blend, a piece of acetate and the patterned paper on top.  Then I cut the snowman and glued him on top of the acetate so he is floating above all that sparkly shaky fun.

I added some large flat heart sequins from Conversation Hearts Sparkle Blend.  I cut and embossed the Marianne Designs Winter Wonderland die sentiment from gold mirror card, with some black for shadows, and tucked a dimensional star from the Bells are Ringing sparkle blend under the 'W'.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope I have inspired you to get sparkly today.  All the Sparkle Blends are available from White Rose Crafts.
