Enjoy the Beach Life

Hi Everyone! It's Judy! I grew up near the beach, and here in Albuquerque? Well no beach. At least not really. But I can dream, can't I? So today I am bringing this fun beachy shaker card to you! And what better way to show you how amazing the new She Sells Seashells Sparkle Blend

I used a stamp set from Hero Arts with inks from Catherine Pooler to create my ocean and a cloud stencil from MFT Stamps with my Ink Blending Brushes and Distress Oxide Inks to create my cloudy sky. I then used a basic square nesting die set from Stamps Of Life to cut the opening in my card front.

I then used some Scor-Tape to adhere my acetate to the back of the square and then foam tape to create my shaker element. My sentiment was also stamped using Catherine Pooler Ink and was from the same Hero Arts Stamp Set. I really love how this came out!

Cutie Pie

IMG_0340
Hey Friends!   It's EK back to guest design another Sparkle Blend project.

With 4th of July just around the corner, I wanted to make a card today that would work for the holiday, but wasn't limited to just one day of the year.  If you are going to make a good 4th of July card, you going to need to pull out your red, white, and blue, and lets be honest, there is a famous phrase about pie and America.  So I figured Doodle's Paper Playground's new Stars & Stripes Sparkle Blend packs is perfect place to jump off with for my project.

IMG_0277
Step One:  I started off my project today by embossing a piece of cardstock trimmed to 4.25x5.5 inches.  I liked this embossing folder, because it already has a center to cut out to make a shaker card.

IMG_0278
Step Two:  I then die cut out the center hole using a die meant to create shakers.  ( I used A.muse Studio Stitched Circle Windows)

IMG_0279
Step Three:  Using some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide, I blended some ink over the embossed cardstock.

IMG_0280
Step Four:  Adhere a piece of acetate to the opening, and build the raised portions using three dimensional tape to create the shaker card guts.  Then add the whole structure to an A2 card frame.

IMG_0281
Step Five:  I filled the opening of the card with Stars & Stripes sequins.  Then using some Candied Apple Distress Oxide, color a scrape of cardstock to fit the back of the opening.

IMG_0282
Step Six:  Stamp the image of pie onto cardstock.  (I used Avery Elle Humble Pie stamp set).

IMG_0283
Step Seven:  Color in the stamped image using colored pencils.  (I used Faber-Castell Polychromos).  Fussy cut out the image.

IMG_0285
Step Eight:  Adhere the pie to the front of the card.  Stamp out a sentiment from the same stamp set.

IMG_0286
Step Nine:  Add little details to the whole card using a tiny stamp from the same stamp set.  I used both Candied Apple and Tumbled Glass for these details.

IMG_0287
Step Ten:  Finally, add hearts from the Stars & Stripes sparkle blend pack onto the card frame.

I hope you got a kick out of the unusual 4th of July card I created.  Make sure you pop over to the Doodles Paper Playground store and check out the full June release.

Let me know in the comments below how you would use the new Stars & Stripes blend.  Until then, Happy Crafting.

Extraterrestrial Shaker

Hi, it's Phoenix. Today I'll be showing you my Extraterrestrial Shaker card that I made using one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground, which is actually called "Extraterrestrial." I also used the Lawn Fawn stamp set called "Beam Me Up."
I started by stamping out my aliens and coloring them with Zig Clean Color Markers. For the alien in the space ship, I used Glow in the Dark Nuvo Drops on the transporter (on the bottom of the ship) and the circular lights along the front. I fussy cut the aliens next. After that, I cut out my landscape for the aliens and colored it in, also using the Zigs.
I really like the Extraterrestrial Sparkle Blend because it has little alien heads and glow in the dark clay pieces. It also contains several different kinds of patterned sequins that are very interesting. Here's how it looks in the dark.
Isn't it cool how all of those things glow?
Next, I cut pieces of foam tape and attached them to the landscape and inserted the Sparkle Blends. I glued my aliens on to the card, but I thought that it still needed a little bit more, so I used a star die from Rubbernecker Stamps for the top corner.

Making this card was a lot of fun because I am really interested in outer space. It looks really cool in the dark with all of the glow in the dark bits. Thanks for reading about my card. Have a good day!

Let's Celebrate!

Hi Everyone! Judy here! Today I am playing with one of the new Sparkle Blends called Stars and Stripes. I love all the fabulous elements that are in this blend. It is not only stars in red, white, and blue, but also these amazing hearts, polka dot sequins, and swirly sequins are just so much fun to play with.

I decided to create a full panel shaker for this project. It really gives a lot of room for all the fabulous shaker pieces to move around.

I also used a paper pad from Doodlebug called Yankee Doodle, which coordinated perfectly with this Sparkle Blend. I also used a wonderful sentiment die called Lets Celebrate from Simon Says. There are so many ways you can use this sentiment, especially since it has the shadow layer. And of course I have used Scor Tape to adhere it all together. This is such a fun and easy project to make! I really love how this turned out!

Happy Birthday Card

Hello Crafty Friends - I am here with a cute Birthday shaker card. I used the New Release

Broken Glass Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends image 0
This isn't your average clear sequin mix.
A base of crystal holographic cupped sequins in 3 sizes,
sprinkled with Moonshine stars & starbursts,
iridescent confetti & spiral squares, matte round spirals
& a generous amount of crystal clear glossy flat &
cupped sequins in different sizes make this blend much more
dynamic than you would expect from a simple clear blend.

Here's the card I created using this beautiful Blend.
Materials Used:
13 @rts Collection: Alice in Candyland - White Rabbit and Pattern Paper
Tim Holtz Brand: Clock Sticker
S.C. Designs -Sincere Sentiments Stamps: Happy Birthday
Recollections Brand 110lb Cardstock: White
Recollections Brand 80lb Cardstock: Red
Lawn Fawn Die: Cross-stitched Rectangle
Darice Brand Foam Tape: Thin Strips
Imagine Crafts: Tear It Tape
Imagine Crafts: On Point Glue
Tsukenkino Versa Fine Ink: Onyx Black
Acetate
