Guest Post by Designing Diva: Fawn Kuehne - Many Thanks

Many Thanks

I used Lawn Fawn Happy Harvest stamp set.
I decided I wanted to paper piece the scarecrows clothes and hat.
I stamped his shirt and hat on the plaid and went with blue for his overalls.

I fussy cut them out and glued them all together.

I stamped and die cut the scarecrow and added the clothes.

I colored the pumpkins with copic markers.

I cute my base panels and stamped my sentiment.

I added the acetate and double layer of foam tape.
I placed my base panel on my card front, I used a top folding card base for this one.

I laid out my sequins and added my top panel.

I added all my images and also added some sequins to the front.

For this card I used the Sparkle Blend Be-Leaf in Yourself from
Doodles Paper Playgrounds new August release.

I am really loving the flat glitter sequins and
this mix has cute little maple leaves!

There are more great Sparkle Blends and a large assortment of items for all your crafty projects over at White Rose Crafts!

White Rose Crafts Design Team Project: Hello Squeakheart

I have been wanting to make this card since I purchased this absolutely adorable Hello Squeakheart stamp set by Heffy Doodle & I knew "Get Creative with Critters" week over at White Rose Crafts was the perfect chance to do it!

I love these simple images that are perfect to use in clean and simple cards or with Copic drawn background & have nice areas to cut out for cute shakers, like mine--plus, if you know me, you know I can't get enough of cute, punny sentiments!

For this card, I decided I wanted a single layer scene to go with my fussy cut shaker elements. I started by drawing the front of the cage--just 3 lines--lightly with a pencil. I used post-it notes to mask so I could stamp the little mice so they look like they're inside the cage. Then I stamped the cheese,  and exercise wheel in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which is Copic friendly & colored the images. I used a kraft knife to cut out the bubbles in the cheese and center of the wheel for my shakers. Next I used a pencil and straight edge to sketch out the basic shape of the rest of the cage, then I traced those lines with a water based, fine tip, black pen, before coloring in the rest of the scene & stamping the "Hello Squeakheart" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink.

To create my shaker boxes, I cut two 4x5.25 inch pieces of self adhesive Fun Foam, adhering the non-sticky sides together with double sided tape. I placed my card front over the fun foam and used a pencil to trace the openings for my shakers. Then I used a sharp kraft knife and non-stick scissors to cut openings, slightly larger than the traced openings. I backed the openings with a Judikins acetate sheet, before adhering my card panel to the shaker foam. I flipped the whole thing over and added some Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends to the shaker openings. I used Flaming Sunset for the cheese and Lilac Luster (out of stock) for the exercise wheel. I backed the cheese with a scrap of yellow cardstock, and the wheel with a scrap of purple, so no bits would escape & then adhered the whole panel to a top folding, A2 landscape card base.

I love to bring the outside of my card to the inside, just a little bit, so I stamped the cheese in Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide ink, used a post it to mask off the opening and stamped a little mousie peeking out with Versafine Clair Morning Mist. Finally I stamped the punny "You are such a Gouda friend" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Check out the huge selection of critter supplies over in the store!

Something Wicked...

Hello! Alison here and I've got a shaker card to share with you today, and it features the "Something Wicked" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I LOVE this new Sparkle Blend because it has shades of purples, blue, black and silver. Plus!!! It's got little sequins with black and white stripes, and teeny fimo pieces that have witch hats and ghosts on it! It's almost like Amber made this blend for me! ;)

Of course, I created this card based on the colors and vibe of this particular Sparkle Blend. I went through all of my Halloween stamps (that took a while!) and came across this great witch silhouette from Recollections (it's a Michaels brand). I stamped her directly on to acetate with StazOn Ink. Next I chose a purple cardstock for my top layer and die cut a circle that would accommodate the size of my stamped image, plus extra room to see the Sparkle Blends moving and shaking! I inked the edges of the purple with Shimmer Silver Delicata Ink from Imagine.

I created my card base out of gray cardstock and added my shaker bits to the center of the base. After adding gray craft foam to the purple and acetate layer, I applied it to my base. Next, I stamped the "wicked" which came with the witch with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with Detail Silver embossing powder. I then cut it out with a Fitted Frame. That big piece of acetate and the height of the craft foam really allow the Sparkle Blends to have a lot of movement in the card.

I really like using silhouette stamps as a foreground for a shaker. They come together quickly and have a lot of impact. Please check out all of the Sparkle Blends that are currently available from Doodles Paper Playground over at the White Rose Crafts LLC shop. That is the only place that you can buy Sparkle Blends, so be sure to visit! Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Guest Post by Designing Diva: Fawn Kuehne - Think Pretty Thoughts!

Think Pretty Thoughts

By Fawn Kuehne

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started by die cutting my base panels.
Then I stamped my image and sentiment on to my smaller panel.
This is the Unicorn stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop.

I die cut my shaker windows using a cloud die from Lawn Fawn.
Then I colored my image with some copic markers and added wink of Stella to the unicorn.

I added the acetate and standard double layer of foam tape tot he back of my panel.

I added my base panel to my card front, measured out my sequins and
then placed my top panel down.

To finish the card I added additional sequins to the front.

For this card I used the Sparkle Blend Majestic from
Doodles Paper Playgrounds new August release.

I am really loving this mix with the pink and gold and white and this mix has little unicorn heads! It is so cute!

Kindred Stamps August Release Blog Hop

Hello Doodle Friends! I am super excited to be participating in the Kindred Stamps August Release Blog Hop! There are some really fantastic new stamp sets, stencils and even tasty new paper pack in this release & I know you won't be disappointed!  If you found your way here from Courtney, you are in the right place, If you haven't checked out the rest of the hop yet, you can find the complete blog list at the end of this post--or, if you'd like to start at the beginning, Hop on over to Kindred Stamps!

🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬🍬

I got to play with the new Love Bites stamp set, and I really adore the sentiments in this set because they're so punny--nd I discovered that the images can be very versatile if you color them up differently.

I also got to try out the super cute new Candy themed Super Sweet paper pack, which is absolutely yummy & fantastic quality! I can't get over how vibrant the colors are, and love the semi-gloss finish on this nice thick paper!

I've created four cards to share with you today, and I hope you like them!
Without further adieu...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my first card, I created a background with lots of layers, using a bunch of different Lawn Fawn border dies & colored up two of the images from Love Bites with Copic markers.
Since the background is pretty nondescript, I decided I wanted there to be no question about who this set was a parody of, so I went to town with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen on the male image--making his skin SUPER sparkly! To finish up, I did some stamp surgery, and stamped the "Hope your Birthday is Dazzling" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I struggled a bit with the second card once the image was colored in with Copic markers, but decided the "I love having you in my pack" sentiment was a perfect, powerful compliment for a clean and simple design. I die cut a panel from Kraft cardstock using the second largest die from the Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set, inking the edges with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. Before matting it on a piece of white cardstock, 1/8 inch larger than the die cut panel, I heat embossed the sentiment using Versamark ink and Ranger Fine Detail White Embossing Powder.

I selected a woodgrain patterned paper from my stash, trimmed it to 4x5.25 inches and adhered it to a medium grey, top folding A2 card base. Then I used Woodware UK 1mm Foam Mounting Tape to pop up the focal panel in the center. Finally, I adhered the colored image using Multi Medium Matte, so he appears to be standing on the sentiment.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I decided to mix things up a bit for my third card and turn the images on their head a bit by coloring them completely differently. I knew I needed a killer background to sell it, so I used my Copic markers to draw my own on a separate panel of 65# white cardstock, so it wouldn't bleed through to the inside of my card. I added a few accents to the darkened windows with a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen, and a few swipes of my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen--to really sell the illusion of glass. I, again, performed some stamp surgery, cutting the "My love for you is" sentiment away from the word "undying", which appears on the inside of the card, and stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black ink
I adhered the finished background panel to the front of a top folding, landscape A2, white card base & then added the "remix" colored characters.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For my final card, I used the Arcade Friends stamp set, because I thought it paired perfectly with the new Super Sweet paper pack! I selected a bright orange, top folding A2 card base and two of the patterns from the paper pack. I cut them with the second and third largest dies from the Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Rectangles die set, respectively, and adhered the panels so they, too, were a bit "wonky". I again colored the character and "You're my hero" cookie with Copic markers--but I added some Sakura Souffle pens to the cookie medalion as the sprinkles, to give it some shine. I adhered them both to the card, in a straight (ish) vertical orientation, so the card appears even more wonky, which I thought fit the fun characters.
