White Rose Crafts Design Team Project - 14 Cards, 3 Decoupage Sheets

Although Christmas 2018 has officially passed, I'm still feeling in the holiday spirit--Plus, I still had 3 Holiday themed pop-out decoupage sheets by Craft Creations UK left from my last White Rose Crafts Design Team package.

I decided to get a head start on my personal challenge to create one Christmas card per week during 2019 and create as many cards as possible using them. I had intentionally selected sheets with several small images, so I could get the most bang for my buck, and let me tell you--3 hours and 14 cute cards with tons of dimension later, I couldn't be happier!

The Craft Creations decoupage sheets are literally idiot proof--everything that goes together is labeled together. Not to mention, if I'd wanted to, I could have even split up each of the elements of the doggies and kitties to create another 8 cards with less dimension, so the value of these sheets is really incredible! If you're looking to make some quick holiday cards, make sure you check out Christmas Doggie MixChristmas Kitty Mix, & Santa Selection!

I hope you've found some inspiration in my projects today! I really enjoyed putting these together and LOVE that I was able to use up some of my Christmas Paper stash (to make room for some new selections, of course!) All 14 of these cards took about 3 hours to put together, assembly line style, and that was with a 3.5 year old buzzing around trying to get attention and my special needs 4 year old still getting over a cold--so probably less time if you could be completely focused on the task! I love that I already have 14 cards ready to go for next year, and 2019 hasn't even started yet!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Have an AMAZING New Year!

Juniper Berries Sparkle Blend

Greetings! Alison here. My favorite Sparkle Blend from the newest release of Doodles Paper Playground is Juniper Berries. It's made up of shades of purple and teal, which are my favorite colors. There are also soft greens, fantastic blue squares, and silver glitter sequins in the Blend. I believe this has become the fast favorite of the design team! I let the colors of Juniper Berries guide me though the making of this card.

I wanted to do something with flowers, so I chose to use the Vintage Flowers stamps and dies from Altenew. I used a variety of Memento and VersaMagic inks from Imagine to ink up the flowers and foliage. The flowers used Aspen Mist VersaMagic, Sweet Plum, Grape Jelly, and Elderberry Memento. The leaves used Niagara Mist VersaMagic and Cottage Ivy Memento.

For my top layer, I applied Antique Linen and Iced Spruce Distress Oxides to my craft mat. I spritzed them with water and dipped my cardstock in a few times, heat setting the colors between dips. I love the dreamy, watercolor look the background has. The colors were just a little off in comparison to the rest of the card though, so I rubbed Aspen Mist VersaMagic across the entire background to soften the colors a bit and to add a tinge of blue. Behind my shaker window, I added a piece of Bo Bunny paper from the Bella Rosa collection.

I added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp (inked in Elderberry), and popped the top layers on to a cream card base. These colors are soft and remind me of a foggy Spring morning.

I adore the Juniper Berries Sparkle Blend, and I hope you do too. Please be sure to visit White Rose Crafts LLC to see all of the new release Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I'll be back tomorrow with another card. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Hex Yeah!

Hello! Alison here. Today I am sharing a card that I made my son for his birthday. He loves shaker cards, so I knew I wanted to go in that direction.  I actually used 4 Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground on this card. One of them is Copper Penny from the new release. And I finally have the Hex Yeah stamps and dies from Simon Says Stamp and CZ Designs, that I knew he would think was cool.

I made 4 shaker windows using the 2 hexagon dies in the set. I actually kept them attached so that I didn't have to worry about measuring the distance between them. Once I laid out my first set (the top 2), I rotated the hexagons so that the little one would sit in where I just die cut it. This allowed me to cut a larger one with the proper spacing. I repeated this with the larger hexagon to cut the final little guy.

As I mentioned, I used Copper Penny Sparkle Blend in the upper left hexagon, followed by Peacock PizzazBe Leaf in Yourself, and last but not least, Breakfast at Tiffy's. Look at the square sequins in Copper Penny! I knew my son would love the contrasting Blends. I backed the shakers with Gold Shimmer Paper. I really like adding fancy paper behind the windows. To jazz up the background, I wet some gold Fine Tec watercolor and splattered it all over. More shine is always good with my boy. The "It's your birthday" is from Stampendous.

Needless to say, my son loved his card. There was a lot of shaking going on after he received it. I think it's a pretty cool card too.

Winter Weather...

Hi ya DPP peeps, today I am sharing a brand new shaker card that might just fit in with some parts of the country. Winter weather is sure unpredictable and it can also be a pain. However, do you remember those days where the snow sparkled and you could see the snowflakes? I sure do. Here is my make using a new sparkle blend from Doodles Paper Playground...

What do you think, does it look like a snow storm? This card features the new Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground called Icicle. The colors and shapes reminded me of a snow storm so I created this cute little card of some friends driving in winter weather.

This blend is perfect and resembles its name. The colors are winter whites, blues with a hint of color. Perfect for those projects that don't need so much color.  I hope your holidays are full of family, fun and food. I also hope you are able to avoid a winter snowstorm!   Carolyn

Snowflake Shaker Card

Hello.  Gail here today and I am so pleased to be guest designing here at the Doodles Paper Playground for December and January.  Today I have a shaker card to share with you using the gorgeous Copper Penny Sparkle Blend

This beautiful blend of metallic orange, browns, greens and gold perfectly complement the blues and whites of winter.

I made my shaker window by cutting a panel of blue card with Stamplorations Double Stitch rectangle.  Then I used a die from Memory Box Gentle Stitched Landscape set.  I used a craft knife to cut around the inner stitch line and also to cut a similar shaped hole in a panel of craft foam.

I stuck the craft foam on a piece of pale blue card, added the Copper Penny Sparkle Blend, a piece of acetate and then the blue cut panel.  I used Memory Box Tivoli Snowflake die to cut the large snowflake and Poppystamps Snowflake Oval Collage to cut the smaller ones from white card.

Hope you enjoy seeing my shaker.   Remember, these blends are all limited edition and available to purchase at White Rose Crafts.  I will be back next month with some more sparkle blend fun, but until then I'd like to take the chance to wish you all a very merry Christmas.  Hugz

It's Your Birthday Mermaid Shaker

It's Your Birthday

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

My niece turns 10 this month and she loves mermaids so
I wanted to make her a mermaid shaker birthday card.

I die cut my top panel from some patterned paper and
also die cut the shaker window.
I stamped the sentiment with some matching purple ink.

Obviously had to go with mermaids,
I stamped then colored with copic markers to match the sequins.

I added the acetate to the back of the panel.
I dug though my little drawer of pre-colored images for a few more things
to put on the front. I found a fish and some seaweed that worked out great.
I also stamped some purple bubbles.

I had an extra mermaid so I added the cut out from the front panel to the inside, added the mermaid and then stamped the sentiment in matching purple.

I added a single layer of foam tape, I wanted this shaker to be
low profile so that I could easily send it in the mail.
I laid out my sequins and placed the top panel.

I love how it turned out!

For this shaker I used the Juniper Berries Sparkle Blend from Doodle Paper Playground.

I love the glitter sequins in this blend.

of items for all your crafty projects over at White Rose Crafts!

Sending Christmas Cheer

Hey guys,Kelli here and  today I have a card made using the Christmas Cheer stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.  It is also featuring the New December Sparkle Blend Juniper Berries from Doodles Paper Playground!   I love the colors of this set!  I love snowflakes, so I had to put the two together!!!

I am not sure you would consider this a clean and simple card because of the sequins on it, but for me it is clean and simple!!!  I used every snowflake stamp from the Christmas Cheer set and Archival inks in Forget-Me-not, Paradise Teal, Vivid Chartreuse, and Majestic Violet to stamp my snowflakes in one corner(ish) of the card and added the sequins from the Juniper Berries sparkle blend.  I thought the colors matched quite nicely!  The sentiment is stamped in Forget-me-not and is from the Christmas Cheer stamp set.  I purchased the December Card Kit from SSS but unfortunately it is sold out.  You can still purchase the stamp set though!!!  Remember you can only find DPP Sparkle Blends exclusively at White Rose Crafts!!!

December Kit Add-Ons Blog Hop with White Rose Crafts

Good morning, I'm excited to be participating in the White Rose Crafts December Kit Add-Ons blog hop today! If you haven't checked out the latest Limited Edition Subscription Kit from WRC yet, you're missing out. It has a Non-traditional Christmas flare, but also enough versatility to be used into the new year-which means more  bang for your buck!

For today's project, I and took my inspiration from the non-traditional color palette of the kit to create this simple & easy to mass produce Christmas cards! I'm a sucker for that contemporary Pink, Teal & Purple combo!

I started with three A2 panels of white layering weight cardstock and the Lawn Fawn Simply Celebrate Winter stamp set (sold out). I chose Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet, & Spun Sugar for this simple, repeat stamping technique. Using my stamp positioner, I started with Picked Raspberry at the center of my panels, stamping all 3 at the same time, assembly line style, sliding the panels up or down 3/4 of an inch for each new color. Once I had covered the panel from top to bottom, I trimmed them down to 3 7/8 x 5 3/8, and then cut each one in half, diagonally, from corner to corner.

Next, I cut  two 1/4 inch strips each of Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust Sparkle Cardstock (included in kit), Craft Creations Blue Shimmer Paper (included in kit) and Craft Creations Lilac Shimmer Paper, adhering them behind the diagonal cut edges of each of the panels. I mounted those triangles to plain white panels cut to 4 1/8 x 5 5/8 inches, making sure the corners were flush with the new panel. This left a nice inset strip with a sparkly border for me to stamp a simple "Wishing you a Merry Christmas" sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments stamp set (add-on item) in Versafine Clair Nocturne ink.

I mounted the first two of the assembled panels onto A2 panels of coordinating cardstock from my stash, and the third--featuring the Pixie Dust Sparkle Cardstock--on a panel of Aspire Petallics Pearl Shimmer Cardstock (add-on item), before adhering the finished panels to top folding 110# A2 card bases. For a final touch of sparkle & texture, I added Nuvo Drops, from the glitter collection, in Aquatic Mist, Purple Rain, Sherbet Shimmer & White Blizzard on just a few of the Gingerbread Girl's Bows.

I really love how these contemporary Christmas cards turned out. I love that they're simple & easy to make several quickly, which is great for those last minute cards you forgot you needed!
