Happy Halloween!!!!!

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!!!

I am playing with Sparkle Blends Jack O Lantern. This is really THE perfect blend for today no matter how you are celebrating. And it is perfect for all those great Halloween pictures too!!!!

For this project I used not only our Sparkle Blends but also this fun set from Clearly Besotted called Creepy Corners. I did use my MISTI with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp my images and my Copic markers to color this up. I then did use acetate and 1 inch wide scor tape to create my infinity shaker and there you have it!

I really love how perfect this blend is for all things Halloween and really all things fall, and the Infinity Shaker really lets the light bounce through all the sparkles.

So head over to the Sparkle Blends Shop. Grab your favorites from the October release. Ok, they are ALL fabulous so maybe grab them all while they are still available! And as always, take a look on the Doodles Paper Playground blogFacebook page and in the Sparkle Blends Fan Club on Facebook to see all the fun things going on!
I do hope you enjoy this projects and can't wait to see what you create!

You are Incredible

Hello! Alison here. Today, I have a card that uses the new Give Thanks Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. It's got beautiful autumnal colors and some turkeys! I omitted the turkeys for this card, but I used everything else. I love the warm colors it has.

I thought it would be fun to use a mandala in a mandala for this shaker card. I have the Incredible India stamp and die set from Erin Lee Creative, so that was my starting point. I colored the stamped image with Copics, and decided I wanted it centrally located on my card.

I decided to use Nuvo's Glacier Paste in Golden Era across Sweet Sentiment's Mandala Stencil on a piece of brown cardstock. After it dried, I die cut the center out with the coordinating die from the Incredible India set. You can see in the photo above how pretty the Give Thanks Sparkle Blend is. I really love those rich, warm colors. I also die cut the "You are incredible" die from Erin Lee Creative (which I think is now sold out) in orange cardstock, and I added brown lowlights with a marker.

I love the shine that almost looks like foil, on this card. The Give Thanks Blend looks so cool in front of the colored mandala. I could see giving this card to anyone, and you can easily change the "feel" of it simply by changing the colors you use. Please visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy to see all of the available Sparkle Blends. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

All I want for Christmas - Unicorn Chill

 All I want for Christmas. . .

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I used these cute unicorns from Clearly Besotted.
I colored them with colored pencils and gamsol.

I die cute my base panel and my top panel with the shaker window.

I used a little distressed ink on the edges of my top panel and stamped the sentiment in purple.

I laid out my sequins and placed the top panel.

I decided I would use two of the unicorns and placed them on opposite sides of the card.

I added sequins on the front and filled them with glossy accents.
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I used the Unicorn Chill Sparkle Blend mix.
This is my favorite holiday color mix!

Gingerbread House

Hi, it's Phoenix. Today I am going to show you my Gingerbread House card that uses the new Frosted Gingerbread Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I really like the Lawn Fawn Build A House die set with the Gingerbread Add-On, so I knew I wanted to use it with Frosted Gingerbread.

I started out by die cutting the different pieces of the house with brown cardstock, and the details were done with white cardstock. I used Snap & Peel on the small parts, like the piping, which is a double sided adhesive sheet. This makes it a lot easier to adhere the small things to the house. After that, I glued the Sparkle Blends to the house using On Point Glue from Imagine. One thing that I really like about the Frosted Gingerbread Sparkle Blend is the small peppermints. I used one for my door handle.

Next, I cut out the white snowy hill behind the house and the gray wintry sky for a mat. I glued these two pieces together and then stuck the house on top of it. I thought that the hill needed some additional decorating, so I cut out a sign from brown cardstock, die cut another roof from the Gingerbread Add On set in white, and added it to the sign for snow. I decided to use the Season's Greetings stamp from the Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments. The sky was a little plain so I stamped the swirls from the Winter Dragon Lawn Fawn set with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

I didn't use a lot of the parts of the Sparkle Blend, but it has really cute Gingerbread Men and frosted cupcakes. I decided to keep my house a little simple though, so I only used some of the plain brown sequins. I hope you like this card. Have you seen the entire new release of Sparkle Blends yet? Silver Bells in the City

Hello! Alison here. Each month, my family and I sit down for a few hours in the dining room and make cards using Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground and other fun supplies. We were off to a late start this month, so we only had our Family Crafty Time on Monday, since there was no school. Today's project was made by my husband, and I LOVE what he made. He was planning on making a card, but it morphed into more of a home decor piece. It's now about 7" x 7."

When he was figuring out what to do and he saw the Silver Bells Sparkle Blend, he quickly thought of creating a city skyline. I have a really old stamp set from Stampendous that was designed by Nat Kalbach that was perfect for what he was envisioning because not only are there multiple stamps, but a cool stencil too. He made the back layer of the city first, by tracing one of the stamps in the set and cutting it out. Then he used Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide with the accompanying stencil to create windows. I love how it looks like some of the windows are lit.

His top layer was done with a lighter gray cardstock, and he stamped the sketchy city with VersaMark ink and embossed it with Detail Silver Embossing Powder. Then he applied Black Soot Distress Oxide just on the edges of the skyline to deepen the color a bit. He buffed off the excess where it was on the embossing powder. He decided he also wanted to add snow, so he used a VersaMarker and scribbled it across the bottom of the cityscape and across the "street." He applied Sparkle Puff embossing powder and voila! Snowy banks.

Gene really loved the big silver bells in this Sparkle Blend, and they are really what inspired his entire project. He cut some black cardstock for his background and flicked on some Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost. Then he adhered his city layers using different heights of foam. Last, he placed on all of the elements from the Silver Bells Sparkle Blend, including the snowflakes, the stars, and of course the bells. He used On Point Glue for this.

It took Gene a bit longer to create this than he anticipated, but I thought he got it done pretty quickly considering all of the steps that were involved. We all love how this turned out, and I am looking forward to hanging it up over the holiday season. Have you seen the entire new release of Sparkle Blends yet? Merry Christmas - Rustic Holiday - Doodles Paper Playground Mood Board Challenge

 Merry Christmas

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I made this card with the Doodles Paper Playground
mood board challenge in mind - Rustic Holiday!
To me, nothing is more rustic than plaid and deer heads!

I started with stamping and coloring my images and
cutting all my pieces for my bases.
I stamped the deer heads on craft paper and colored
all the images with Prismacolor colored pencils.
I was going to use gamsol on the Santas but thought
that the coloring added to the rustic look. . .

*I made a total of 4 cards. . I will share them at the end of the post. . .

I went with a circle shaker for this card,
assembled my shaker added a double layer
of foam tape to my frame then laid out my sequins.

Placed the shaker on the card base and added my image.

I white heat embossed the sentiment on black paper. .

I attached to the bottom of that card,
I trimmed the right edge to be even with the card.
I added a few sequins to the front as usual.

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Here are all the cards I made. . .
I love how they turned out!
They all are definitely considered Rustic Holiday!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I used the Rustic Rudolf Sparkle Blend mix.
This is my favorite holiday color mix!
