White Rose Crafts Glory Of Autumn Blog Hop

Hello Doodle Friends!
I am very excited to be participating in White Rose Crafts very first Blog Hop! We are celebrating the upcoming launch of the Limited Edition, October Card Kit: Glory of Autumn, on October 1st! There are very limited quantities of this kit available for a-la-carte purchase, and it is Live for Preorder in the store right now! Check out fellow design team member, EK Gorman's Unboxing Video over on YouTube for an up close and personal look at this gorgeous and seasonally appropriate kit!

For this blog hop, some of us are using the kits themselves and others, like me, are using items available for 10% off, from the October Kit Add-Ons section of the store (see end of post for coupon code).

For my project, I decided to revisit a technique I truly love-ink blending over a masked image.
 I selected the Pumpkin Spice mini stamp set from Lawn Fawn, stamping the cup and shaker images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, as I intended to color them with Copic markers, and cut masks for them from Post-its.
I adore the beautiful, creamy blend I get with Distress Oxide inks, and knew I wanted to do an ombre background. I selected Abandoned Coral, Carved Pumpkin & Wild Honey Oxide inks, blending them onto and A2 panel of 65# white cardstock, with a heavy hand, using a couple of Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tools and Mini Ink Blending Foams. I used a spray bottle to add water droplets, picking up the reactiviate ink with a paper towel.

I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink, and trimmed the panel to 3.75x5 inches. I cut a panel of Craft Creations Gold Shimmer Paper to 4x5.25 inches and mounted it on a white 110#, top folding A2 card base, before adhering my finished panel, centered, atop that. For a touch of shine, I added some of the pretty leaf confetti from the Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends Be-Leaf in Yourself  to look like spice falling from the little shaker & then brushed a generous coating of Clear Wink of Stella on the whipped cream and coffee mug

Kindred Stamps September Release Blog Hop

Hello Kindred Crafters!

I am back for my final (😭) Kindred Stamps Release Blog Hop, as a member of the design team--and you guys...they TOTALLY KILLED THIS RELEASE!

I had the immense pleasure of working with the new Midnight Movie stamp set, and it totally thrilled me!

 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my first card, I started with a certain cross dresser and his creation, coloring them with Copic markers and Sakura clear Stardust pen.
I cut out the sun ray panel die from Hero Arts in DCWV Gold glitter paper, mounting a stitched oval of dark red cardstock in the center. I stamped the "You're my creature" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink on a strip of 110#, Recollections White cardstock. To help it stand out, I used a red, fine liner pen to add a slight "shadow" to the left side of the letters. Finally, I mounted my colored characters using Multi Medium Matte.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For my second card, I knew I needed to utilize some of the supporting images from the stamp set, so I stamped the Toast image, randomly, all over an A2 panel of 65#, White Recollections cardstock & stamped the Happy Couple and one more slice of toast on a seperate piece of cardstock, before coloring them all with Copic Markers.

I didn't have cardstock that matched the colors I used, so I used one of my E30s series Copic markers to color a strip of white cardstock to match. I stamped the sentiment, "A toast to the happy couple" using Versamark Onyx Black ink, and adhered my detailed toast image next to it, on the right. Finally, I adhered the happy couple using 1mm foam tape, for just the smallest bit of dimension.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For my third card, I knew I had to show this sassy red head some love. I colored her with copic markers, topped with a heavy coating of Sakura clear Stardust pen for tons of sparkle and shine!
I selected a beautiful monochrome patterned raindrop paper with gold foil accents from my stash, cutting it to 4x5.25 inches and mounting it on an A2 panel of Neenah Desert Storm cardstock, with 1mm foam tape, for dimension. Next, I stamped the "You're my favorite obsession" sentiment in Versafine Onyx Black ink, and adhered our fiery red head with a penchant for sparkle to look as though she were standing on the word "Favorite".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I hope you enjoyed my cards today! I really enjoyed having the opportunity to play with Kindred Stamp's new Midnight Movie stamp set and look forward to creating more, playful cards and projects in the future!

Congrats, Momma! with bubblegum ice

Hello, hello, hello! I have a card for a baby shower today. I have know the soon-to-be mom since I was a kid. She used to baby sit me, lol!

She is having a little boy, so I decided to go with soft greens and blues for the background and used distress inks over a number stencil. Then I used my zig markers to color the cute little critters and fussy cut them out (I accidentally cut the lion's tale off. whoops!). I used the green distress ink to blend along the edges of my top panel and then the beautiful blend from Doodles Paper Playground to make it a shaker.

Supplies:
Stamps: Clearly Besotted - Petite Plushies; Lawn Fawn - Big scripty words
Dies: Lawn Fawn - Big scripty words; MFT - Mod rectangle stax
Dies: Distress inks - tumbled glass, bundled sage, peacock feathers; Zig Clean color markers
Stencils: Heffy Doofle - Numicon
Embellishments: Doodles Paper Playground - Bubblegum Ice

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

It is time to pull out my favorite Halloween set!
This is the layering Jack O' Lantern set form Strawberry Jude Stamps.
Whenever I  use this set I always stamp multiples since there are so many steps to this image.

I used all my Lawn Fawn yellows and oranges for the jack o' lantern and pumpkin.

I used a mix of greens for the pumpkin stem.

OK, so I die cut my base panels, die cut a banner and
white heat embossed my sentiment
and fussy cut my jack o' lantern

For this card I only used a single layer of foam tape.
I wanted the sequins to not be able to move around so much.
I added my black base to my card front.

I wanted the sequins to kinda get hung up on themselves so I
picked out some of the cup sequins to make sure that
they would get stuck in place.
I added my top panel.

Then I added my jack o' lantern and my banner.

For this card I used three different mixes from Doodles Paper Playgrounds
Green With Envy, Orange You Glad and Purple Passion

I love the cup sequins in these mixes, they look like little flowers!

There are more great Sparkle Blends and a large assortment of items for all your crafty projects over at White Rose Crafts!

Consider This Card a Hug: Part 2

Greetings! Alison here. Earlier in the month, I shared THIS card that I made with the Unicorn Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground and 2 of the Give a Hoot stamps from Elizabeth Crafts. Today, I am sharing a card I made from my son using the same stamp set, but for the shaker I used a combination of Sparkle Blends.

I adore the sweetness of these owl stamps, and I knew my son would love a card with them just as much as my daughter. I had previously colored the "Momma" owl, so that helped me choose the directions for the baby and the rest of the card.

After I colored the owls, I used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Next I chose a couple of fun patterned papers from DCWV, and I cut a window in one of them using Elizabeth Craft Designs' Stitched Rectangles.

Then I moved on to choosing the Sparkle Blends for the card. It turned out that there wasn't one that was quite right for the card, so I decided to create my own! That's the beauty of playing with Sparkle Blends....you can always mix them together to create a custom look. For this shaker, I used Flaming Sunset (one of my son's favorites), But First, Coffee, and Limonade.

When all was said and done, I had the perfect combination of Sparkle Blends for my card, and I am happy to report that he adored his card. My sentiment is the same that I used for my daughter's card, which is from the You Are Loved stamp set from Hero Arts, and my card base is gray. So why not pop on over to White Rose Crafts LLC to see what beautiful combinations of Sparkle Blends you can come up with for yourself? You just can't make a wrong decision! White Rose Crafts is the only place you can buy Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. I'll be back soon with a new project. Thanks for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!

Thanks by Fawn Kuehne

Thanks

By Fawn Kuehne

Hello!
Fawn here to share a new shaker card using an oldie but goddie
 mix from Doodle Paper Playground!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I decided to use this mandala stamp from Sugar Pea Designs.
I stamped it on some watercolor paper and colored it with Mission Gold watercolors.

I used black for my top panel.
I die cut a circle in the middle, added my acetate and a double layer of foam.

I attached the base paen to the card and laid out my sequins.
Then I added the top panel.

I decided to add a foiled thanks die cut to my card.
First I used a large piece of scor-tape that I placed on the front of the paper I used for my die cut.
Then I removed the backing paper and placed my foil on top and burnished really well. . .
It was the first time I actually did this and think that it turned out great!!!

To complete the card I added a few sequins from a couple
other mixes, Be-leaf in Yourself and Very Cranberry, to match the colors of the card.

For this card I used the Sparkle Blend Fairy Dust from
Doodles Paper Playgrounds.
