Good day, Crafty Friends! Today I am sharing a project that uses the Peridot Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I teamed this Blend up with the Laurel Burch Lion stamp from Stampendous.
The lion is an image that I colored during the last 30 Day Coloring Challenge from The Daily Marker. I amassed quite a number of these images, and it's great to be able to create cards quickly with them. I really wanted to add leaves on the background of the card, so I decided to make them my shaker windows.
I used an older leaf die from Stampendous for the leaf windows, and as I mentioned above, I filled them with the beautiful Peridot Sparkle Blend. I love all of the different sizes and shapes in this Blend, as well as the varying shades of green. I backed the windows with an old piece of patterned cardstock from DCWV.
Prior to die cutting my shaker windows, I applied some Brushos to my background in Turquoise. I made sure to not spritz it with too much water, because I wanted the different colors of pigment to show. I wanted it to appear as though the forest is in soft focus behind the lion. My sentiment is from CZ Designs & Simon Says Stamp's Simple Sentiments stamp set.
I love the simplicity of the lion image, mixed with the soft, "open" colors of the Brushos. And, I really enjoy using small die cuts to create my shaker windows. The Peridot Sparkle Blend is perfect for foliage. Please be sure to visit White Rose Crafts to see all of the available Sparkle Blends. You can use my code, "Alison 15" to save 15% off your purchase. What a cool background and great idea for the shaker!
