Card #5 in the Sparkle Blends/Lawn Fawn Series

Hello! Alison here. Thanks for stopping by. Today I have the 5th card in my Sparkle Blends and Lawn Fawn series. At the beginning of December, I decided to challenge myself to use all of the images in the Simply Celebrate Winter stamp set along with a Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground that I thought coordinated well with it. I went through all of the very holiday stamps, so today's card uses the houses, which I think can be used all winter long. If you want to check out the other cards in this series, here are the links for Card #1, Card #2, Card #3, Card #4.

I like that these houses can be used for more than Christmas cards. For example, I have a friend that just bought a new home, and since it's winter, this is the perfect card for her. She'll receive it once she's all settled in. I knew that the "Blue Blizzard" Sparkle Blend would be perfect for this card. There are several shades of blue in it, plus lots of beautiful snowflakes. I colored the houses with my Zig Clean Color Markers and cut them out. I found a piece of patterned paper from Echo Park that was perfect for my snowy scene, and I stamped my sentiment, which is from Lawn Fawn's Happy Village stamp set.

For my shaker window, I used a brand new die from Stampendous that is actually meant to be scoops of ice cream! It's part of the new POP Shapes die set that's available starting in January. I thought it made the perfect cloud. You can see in the photo above just how pretty the Blue Blizzard Sparkle Blend is. Look at all of that shine! I kept the rest of the card super simple, because it's all about that shaker, right?

I hope you are enjoying this series of cards as much as I am. I think I may continue to do something like this in the New Year as well. It's a fun, yet simple challenge, and it's helping me to really use what I have and not pine over things that I don't have. I'll be using the last stamp in this set next month, which is the presents. It's perfect because it's my birthday month! I hope you'll check it out when it's posted. Please be sure to visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy. Ability to Laugh

Hey Divas!  It's EK back with another Sparkle Blend card.  So the holidays are over, and I am feeling a bit of craft fatigue. So many heavy holiday cards and crafts of recent seems to have sucked my creativity. So today I thought I would go with something light hearted and CAS. Can you have CAS with sequins? Well, today I am sure gave it a try.

I stamped a old Penny Black image in grey ink and colored here in with colored pencils, keeping everything simple. I added a light hearted sentiment from Funny Bones that seemed perfect for someone with craft fatigue. Finally I pulled out the Doodles Paper Playground Flutter By Butterfly Sparkle Blend mix.

It may not be CAS, but I sure do love how the Flutter By Butterfly sequins look on this card. What do you create when you are feeling craft fatigue? Let us know in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting.

Happy New Year!

So I am now working on New Year cards. I may need to start working on next years cards since I feel like I have a lot more holiday ideas and things I still want to play with from this year that I got later in the cardmaking season! But for today, let's talk New Year!

I decided to work with Newton's New Year stamp set from Newton's Nook, and pair this with With A Bang Sparkle Blends as the basis for my project. I love this mix with a mostly black and white and silver color base, but also  purple and even a bit of blue with fabulous shapes and fun elements to give this such a magical mix feel. I also am using Fancy Frames Kit from Queen and Company for my framed shaker element. I have been working on cleaning up my craftroom and if you are like me you probably have 6x6 pads that are partially used and as we start making cards for the next holiday or next season these paper pads stay partially used and get buried on our desks. With that said, these papers are actually from Halloween Hoopla 6x6 Paper Pad from Queen and Company. While the front sides are very Halloween, the back sides are these amazing bright pattern papers that are totally perfect for this project. I did use A2 Card Layers #2 from the Stamp Doctor to cut my background layers. I colored up Newton and his champagne glass using my copics, and to pull it all together I used my main go to Scor Tape to adhere it all.

Hope Your Holidays Are Poppin!

Hope Your Holidays Are Poppin!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

Hello!
I hope that you have been having a very happy holiday!

I saw a card in one of my Facebook groups and had to steal this sentiment!
I absolutely love it!

Obviously it is perfect to use with the Lawn Fawn Let's Toast set.

I decided to use a pop tart for this and wanted to add a Santa hat, I created a mask of the Santa hat using sticker paper. I stamped out the hat, applied the sticker and then stamped the tart.
I used two techniques to color the tart and hat, copic and colored pencils and gamsol. I also added fake fluffy snow to the Santa hat.

For the toaster I just used grey copics.

I was able to piece together the sentiment using a line from the Merry Mice set and then used Quinn's ABC's for the Poppin. I colored it in with colored pencil and gamsol to match my pink theme.

I used the Let's Toast pull tab add on to create the interactive portion of my card.

Then I added individual sequins to give my card sparkle!
These sequins matched my pink Christmas theme perfectly!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I used the The Little Piggy Sparkle Blend.
These large sequins are perfect pink iridescence!

Merry Christmas From All Of Us Tp All Of You!

From All Of Us At Sparkle Blends, we wish everyone a very happy holiday season!

This fun-loving little penguin is so excited for the holidays! And he is flying high with Blue Blizzard Sparkle Blends over a snow covered village. This cutie along with his balloons and village are from a fabulous set from Clearly Besotted Stamps called Balloon Bunch Christmas. The background has been created with ink blending of Distress Oxieds in Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot, followed by a light dusting of white acrylic paint snow speckles. The village, penguin and balloons have been stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, using my Misti Stamp Positioning Tool and then colored with Copic markers. I have added my snowy dimension with an amazing Snow Marker from Marvy Uchida, and finally created my infinity shaker using clear acetate and Scor Tape.

Card #4: Sparkle Blend/Lawn Fawn Series

Merry Christmas Eve! Alison here. I've got my 4th card in the series I created for myself that uses a Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, along with an image from Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Winter stamp set. I decided to use the ornaments stamp with the "Merry and Bright" Sparkle Blend.

I love the bold, bright colors of the "Merry and Bright" Blend, so I made sure to color my ornaments with similar colors using my Zig Clean Color markers. I fussy cut the ornaments out and perused through my stash of backgrounds to see if there was anything I had the coordinated. I came across one that I made with Distress Oxides a while back. The colors I used are Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed, and Peacock Feathers.

My shaker window uses an old die from Stampendous. It goes perfectly with the stamps, so I had to use it. When I added my shaker bits to the window, I thought it needed a bit more blue, so I added sequins from the "Baby Shark" Sparkle Blend. I felt that now the mix worked perfectly with the look I was going for. I did omit the little sharks that are in the Blend....though it would be fun to do a holiday shark-themed card! I really like the different colored snowflakes in the "Merry & Bright" Blend. I backed the shaker window with striped cardstock from Lawn Fawn. I made a white colored base, which I inked with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide.

I love the non-traditional colors of this card. I think it's joyful and fun. Now, all I have left to do are the presents and the houses from the Simply Celebrate Winter set. Which shaker card should I create first? Please be sure to visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy. Card #3 in the Sparkle Blends/Lawn Fawn Series

Greetings! Alison here. Today I have the third card in my shaker card series that uses a Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground, along with a stamp from Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Winter set. I had yet to use the "Lights in the Forest" Sparkle Blend (which is a real shocker because I absolutely love this one!), so I was really excited to create this card. If you've missed the first two cards in this series, please click HERE and HERE.

I started off by coloring the trees from the Simply Celebrate Winter set with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. Again, these stamps are fantastic because they are really quick to color. After I fussy cut them out, I began to work on my background. I ink blended my top panel with Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink (I don't own Chipped Sapphire in an Oxide, which is why I switched to Ink). I started in the upper center of the panel with the Peacock Feathers and worked my way out to the darker tones. Then I splattered water on the panel to lift some of the color. Next, I went in with a gold watercolor from Fine Tec and created smaller splatters. I knew this would look beautiful with the Lights in the Forest Sparkle Blend. Then I heat embossed my sentiment with Detail Silver embossing powder.

I used an older snowflake die from Stampendous to cut out my window. It's a wonderful size for a shaker. You can see how unique this Blend is in the photo above. I really love the spiral sequins and the polka dots. The satin finish on the sequins is really magical too. I backed my window with a glitter cardstock from DCWV and used a Sparkle Marker on the border of my card base in a rich, midnight blue.

I think this is my favorite card in the series so far. Those blues are so beautiful together, and I really adore the "Lights in the Forest" Sparkle Blend. Up next will probably be the ornaments. Hello Frosty Shaker

Hello! Last week, I posted about how I challenged myself to use each of the stamps in Lawn Fawn's Simply Celebrate Winter set, along with a Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I don't use this stamp set often enough, and they are just perfect for shaker cards. You can check out that post HERE. Today's card is the second in the series, and I used the "Hello Frosty" Sparkle Blend with the little snowmen from Lawn Fawn.

I knew immediately that I was going to use the "Hello Frosty" Sparkle Blend with these snowmen so I colored them to coordinate with my Zigs. I love that the stamps in this set are so quick to color. Below you can see just how adorable this Sparkle Blend is....look at all of those snowmen and snowflakes!

Last week, my son and I had a Gel Press monorpinting session together, and while I went through them, I found the perfect one for this card. I shared it on FB to get some feedback as to which areas of the print I should use, and most people mentioned they liked the areas with the blue, so I made sure to use that part. You can see the full print below.

After I trimmed the print, I used an Avery Elle Banner die to cut two windows. I added my foam tape and shaker bits, an backed it with a pink cardstock. I inked my card base with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink, which I also used on a pale blue strip of cardstock to help the snowmen stand out. Last, I added my sentiment from the Snow Globe Scenes stamp set (I just straightened out the sentiment), and I added a few sequins to the outside of the card.

I think the card is adorable and I really love the Gel Press monoprint with the snowmen. I think the areas with the bubble wrap look like snowballs, and the various colors match the Sparkle Blend perfectly. Next up in this series will be the trees stamp with the Lights in the Forest Sparkle Blend. Please be sure to visit the Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy. Warm and Wonderful Christmas

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1890.jpg

Hey Friends! Today I am playing around with some non holiday Sparkle Blends and yet creating a Christmas Card. I wanted to see if there were any older blends that were meant for other seasons that could become beautiful non traditional holiday themed. I found that the Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend was perfect for a southwestern Christmas.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1883.jpg

I started by pulling the Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend and an older distress oxide ink paper I had laying around in my stash. I wish I could tell you what colors I used on this piece of paper, but it is so old I can only guess. I think I was Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemon and maybe abandoned Coral.

I then stamped a holiday image from Art Impressions and traced out a horizon and sun that could become my shaker.

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1885.jpg

Using my xacto knife, I cut out the sun.

Using my derwent watercolor pencils, I colored in the image. I enhanced the white parts with my Posca pen.

I assembled and filled the shaker with the Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend. I added to the edges some Ripe Persimmon Distress Markers to help make the sun be even more vibrant. (I should have colored the card frame a vibrate yellow so the sun would be yellow under the Blend.)

I stamped a sentiment in the same Ripe Persimmon Distress Marker ink and added a few more Citrus Tornado Sparkle Blend sequins to finish the card.

What non-holiday Sparkle Blend would you use to create a Christmas Card? Let me know in the comments below. Until then Happy Crafting.

Nice List

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1864.jpg

Hey Everyone! I am popping in with a really quick holiday shaker card to brighten up your season. I just love how you can easily make a really special card simply by turning it into a shaker (something that is a whole lot easier that you would think.)

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_e1865.jpg

To really make this card super festive, I pulled out Doodle's Paper Playgrounds Holly Berry Sparkle Blend. This is just the perfect blend of Christmas!
