Outta This World

Ink Stained Roni with you today to take you on a trip far far away to another galaxy with my outta this world shaker tag using one of the new Sparkle Blends - Nebula

Nebula Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends Glow In The image 0

The Nebula blend is amazing - filled with purple, black, green, iridescent sequins, printed, holographic, Fimo stars and even glow in the dark sequins. Such a beautiful combination of color, textures and styles.

To create this shaker tag I die-cut the stars from the cover tag, adhered a piece of acetate on the back side and set about outlining each star with foam tape. The wells were then filled with this amazing shaker blend and covered with a second piece of acetate (to hold everything in place). I covered the backing tag with Rinea Silver/Silver Starstruck foiled paper to really make the sequins colors pop. This tag was attached to the shaker piece.

I then covered each of the star windows with the cut away portion and flicked frost (metallic white) watercolor paint over the entire tag and let it dry. The cover-up stars were then removed and a few select sequins from the Nebula mix were affixed to the front of the tag. A bit of sparklie fiber and this shaker tag was set to go. It would make a great piece for a card, in a scrapbook, as a gift tag and more.

Happy Little Flurries

Greetings! I have a new shaker card to share today that uses one of the newest Sparkle Blends from Doodles Paper Playground. It's called "Happy Little Flurries," and it has the cahhhhh-yutest (cutest) little kawaii clouds in it. Like seriously, they're adorable. You'll be able to see one of them in my second photo. Since this Blend is focused on snow and the sky, I decided to make a fun little outdoor scene with some Llamas from Stampendous.
I colored two of the llamas and the mountain scene from the "Llama Sweaters" stamp set with my Zig Clean Color Markers. After I fussy cut them all out, I decided I wanted my llamas on the outside of the shaker, while the mountains and clouds were going to go inside. I used simple oval die from Elizabeth Craft Designs for my window. I love the stitched detail that the die leaves behind. I ink blended some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide just around the shaker window.
*Side note: see how the llama on the right has his tongue sticking out? I glued that fimo snowflake to the outside of my shaker window, so that it looks like he's trying to catch it.
Inside my shaker window, I tore some double sided blue cardstock (it has different shades of blue on either side) to create my ground. I love the effect of hills that it gave. I also found a really old scrap of Basic Grey paper that was perfect for a snowy sky. Then I added lots of my "Happy Little Flurries" Sparkle Blend inside the window. There are some really fun shapes and very pretty colors in this mix. If you'd like to see an even better look at this and all of the other new release Blends, please check out my FB Live Video HERE.
I added a few additional snowflakes to the outside (look at how different they are from each other!) with On Point Glue. I mounted the shaker panel to a white card base, after I inked the edges with a teal ink.

I love how this card turned out. I think it's silly, but also kinda pretty. That's due to the lovely "Happy Little Flurries" Sparkle Blend, of course. You're A Star - Happy Little Flurries and Sweet Treats

You're A Star

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I started by picking out some distress oxides that would match the
Happy Little Flurries Sparkle Blend.

I blended them onto a panel and added some water droplets.

I used the same colors and water colored my little images so that they would match perfectly!

Then I thought that the back ground had to much pink in it for this sequin mix so I used the same colors and created a splattered back ground. I die cut a star window for my shaker area.

I added acetate and a single layer of foam tape so that it is more mail friendly!

I die cut the same frame from my first panel and
placed it in the shaker window.
I added my sequins and placed the panel on the card base.

I added my images and a sentiment banner.
I also added sequins from the mix to the front of the card.

I couldn't leave my other panel so I created a matching card with
the Sweet Treats Sparkle Blend!

Reach for the Stars

Hi, it's Rhiannon. Today I have a card using the "Nebula" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I really like the big sequins that's in this Blend. They look like planets. I liked the idea of doing a nebula as the background, for the Nebula Blend.
First I cut a small mat of cardstock and inked blended it with Distress Oxides in Peeled Paint, Seedless Preserves, and Black Soot. After it was dry, I took the stars from the Hero Arts' Dreams are Made stamp set and stamped it with VersaMark Ink. Then I embossed it with Detail Silver Embossing Powder from Stampendous. I repeated this a bunch of times until I was happy with the background.
Then I took the sentiment, which was from the Voyager stamp set from AALL & Create and stamped it on a separate piece of cardstock. I split the sentiment in to 2 lines, instead of how it is in one line. I cut it out and I added color with Memento Markers. The colors matched the background really well. I used Tuxedo Black, Elderberry, and Pistachio.
Next I poured out some of the Nebula Sparkle Blend on to a piece of scrap paper, and I placed the sequins where I wanted them on the card. I glued them down with On Point Glue and I attached the background to my black card base.

I liked how I embossed the silver stars. This Blend has some glow in the dark stars in it. I think they're cool, and I added 2 to my card. The "planet" sequins in this Blend are really unique and fun. I know I'll use it again soon. Don't forget to visit the new Sparkle Blends Shop on Etsy. Thanks for stopping by!

Wee Wee Wee...

Hello Friends - Roni here today and I want to share my farmyard shaker card made using one of the fabulous new Sparkle Blend limited release - This Little Piggy.

This Little Piggy Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends image 0

If you look closely you can see the darling little Fimo piggy faces and tiny pink flowers which make this blend so sweet.

To create this card I started off by creating a watercolor sky and grassy field with my Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paints. After the panel had dried I diecut the pig from the grassy area. I also die-cut the farmyard silhouette from Rinea Ebony/Gold Glossy foiled paper.  I assembled the shaker on the back of the card, filled it and adhered it to the kraft card base.

I finished off the card by attaching the farmyard silhouette and a computer generated sentiment to the front of the card.  Such a fun card to brighten anyone's day don't you think?

Supplies:

Gina Marie - Piggie Die, Farm Life Border Die Set
Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor Paint
Watercolor Paper
Rinea Foiled Paper - Ebony/Gold Glossy
Kraft Card Base

You Brighten My Day

Greetings! Alison here. I have a new shaker card to share with you today, using the new "Hey Chickie" Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I wanted to make something bright and cheerful, to try and help chase away the Winter Doldrums that I know so many of us are feeling. The Hey Chickie Sparkle Blend is full of happy pinks and cheerful yellows, so I knew that was a great Blend to use.
I began by stamping the Dutch Tulips stamp from Stampendous hanging off the edge of my shaker panel. This is a big stamp, but I didn't want to fill my entire panel with the image. I colored the tulips with my Tombow Recycled Pencils.
I wanted to do something different for my shaker window, instead of doing a typical circle or rectangle. I have a few of the Birch Press Design "Big Sugar Script" dies, and I opted to use the "Big You." These dies come with the word as well as the shadow dies. I die cut the shadow directly on to my colored panel, and out of hot pink cardstock, I die cut the regular word. I also cut out a piece of pale pink cardstock to close up my shaker panel. To complete my sentiment, I stamped "brighten my day," which is from Stampendous' "Big Words Thanks" stamp set. The sentiment is all on one line, but I stamped it on to two to better fit the layout of my card.
You can see in the photo above some of the pretty sequins and Fimo shapes that are in the Hey Chickie Blend. I really love the yellow butterflies! I opted to remove the little chickie heads that are in the mix...I'll just use them on another card. I distressed the edges of my shaker panel, for some added texture.

What word dies do you have that you can do this technique with? Do you like to make shaker windows out of unusual shapes? I certainly do! Make A Wish

Make A Wish

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this  card I used a panel that I already had started and
knew it would be great with this sequin blend.

First I added green and purple Distress Oxides to the panel and then put some chipped sapphire around the edges and black soot to deepen the colors.

I did several layers of water splashed with some perfect pearls and a layer of
white gesso to finish the galaxy look.

OK, so I saw this new way to create a full front shaker card.
I cut my acetate to be half an inch bigger than my panel on both sides.
Each side was scored at 1/4 of inch.

I used the 1/8 score tape on the edges.

You place the panel on the back of the
acetate and fold over the edges,
basically creating a pouch with the acetate
and your front panel.

I added the sequins to the pouch and
folded over the last edge.
Then I just placed it on the card front and you have a full front shaker card!

Here is the same card I made using a frameand foam tape.
The acetate pouch I think makes the card less bulky also,
a better way for shaker cards that you are going to mail?

I like this new shaker method and look for ward to using it in different ways!

I used the Nebula blend on these cards.
I love all the green in this blend, the printed sequins and
the glow in the dark stars!!
