Birthday Alien
Using Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends "Crown Jewels"
Hi! I am so excited that Amber invited me to be a guest
designer for Doodles Paper Playground today. She has put together some
beautiful mixes of sequins and embellishments and today I got to play with the
Crown Jewels mix for this alien shaker card.
For this card I started by taking a bunch of small stamps
from Clearly Besotted and randomly stamped them on white cardstock in grey. Then I die cut a circle from the center. For
the galaxy background, I used distress oxide inks in pink, purple and blue on
white cardstock and then covered most of it with black soot oxide ink. Then I
sprayed it with gold shimmer spray which gives it a gorgeous shine in real life.
My little alien and rocket ship were colored with zig clean
color markers and fussy cut out. I laid the top panel on the galaxy background
to help me place and adhere the rocket ship. For the shaker portion, I had a
circle pouch from MFT that I taped to the inside of the white cardstock and
then glued the black circle frame to the outside of the panel. I go back and
forth on how I put the sequins in shakers. Sometimes I put them on the back
panel and then add the top panel but this time I put them in the circle pouch
and added the back panel on top of it. The orange alien was added with foam
tape to give a little dimension and the green star is from the sequin mix.
I added one more alien to the inside too J
