Consider This Card a Hug: Unicorn Sparkle Blend

Hello! It's Alison and today I have a new shaker card to share with you. I made this card for my daughter for her first day of school. I recently purchased the Give a Hoot stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs, and I knew using them would be perfect as she loves owls so much.

I colored them in some of our favorite colors and used the coordinating dies to cut them out. To stamp them, I used VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne, and to color the images, I used Zig Clean Color Markers.

My daughter loves vivid colors so I knew that I needed to use the gorgeous Unicorn Sparkle Blend on this card. It has so many stunning colors (including opalescent sequins), and it is truly our favorite of all the Blends. In the photo below, you can see the wide range of sizes and colors in this unique Blend. 

My daughter and I also really like to mix patterns, and I enjoy adding a fun pattern behind my shaker, for when the sequins and other bits fall to the bottom. So I chose a fun floral from DCWV to go with the polka dot pattern on my top layer (also from DCWV). For my sentiment, I reached for my favorite sentiment stamp set, which is the You are Loved stamp set from Hero Arts. I opted for a gray card base, which I think is really pretty and different. I don't know about you, but I get tired of white, cream, and black card bases. Gray is a nice change. 

My daughter loved her card, and that makes me so happy. I'll be sharing the card I made for my son in a few days. Design Team Project for Kindred Stamps: Demon Hunters

Hello Doodle Fans,

I'm back with another design team project for Kindred Stamps. I absolutely loved using their Demon Hunters stamp set. If you know me at all, you know I'm a big fan of a certain set of brothers and their angel bestie, but this girl is a sucker for a great, classic car, so I knew I had to color the Impala up with my Copic Markers!

I decided she deserved a starring roll on this card, so I went with some simple layers on a rich, navy blue card base. I cut mountains out of textured, medium grey cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Mountain Border Dies, the layered road out of white cardstock and black textured cardstock with the Lawn Fawn Road Border Dies and a moon out of cream cardstock, with a circle die from my stash. I layered them up at the base of my side folding, landscape, A2 cardbase using Ek Success 2 Way Glue Pen. 

Next, I pressed my White Colorbox ink pad onto an acrylic block and sprayed it with some water, to thin it. I mixed it up and used a piece of torn copy paper as a makeshift mask, then used a paint brush to flick the thinned ink onto the "sky" portion of my card. I liked how the ink faded back as it dried, leaving a subtle galaxy of stars, but I also wanted some brighter points, so I pulled out my trusty Sakura White Gelly Roll pen, and added some little dots as more stars. Finally, I heat embossed the "My Prince Charming..." sentiment from the stamp set in the top left corner, using Ranger Superfine White Embossing Powder. I added a coat of Spectrum Noir Clear Shimmer Pen to the moon, and then moved on to the inside. 

Because I like to bring the outside of my card to the inside, I decided to heat emboss the Impala image with Ranger Super Fine Clear Embossing Powder in the bottom right corner & then used the same white from before to add the "You've possessed me" sentiment next to it.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today. I loved working with the Demon Hunters stamp set so much, I will likely have one or two more projects coming later in the month featuring some of the other images I've already colored & more sentiments, so stay tuned!

Hey all! I am so happy to be back with another of the new sparkle blend releases from Doodles Paper Playground. It still feels like summer here but now that it is September and school is starting, I feel like it should be fall, lol. I made this card with the Be-leaf sparkle blend. These colors scream fall and cooler weather so mice jumping into a pile of leaves was a perfect fit.

To start my card, I took a piece of white cardstock and stamped and colored leaves all over it. Then I stamped my mice and leaves (these are from last Stamptember) on a top folding A2 card and colored them with colored pencils. I cut out a dome shape on the leaf panel and used a dome shaker pouch from MFT in the cutout portion with the sparkle blend in it. For the sentiment, I stamped it on a piece of kraft cardstock and cut a banner shape around it. The last touch was using a few leaf sequins from the blend and adding them to the sentiment. Below is a closeup of the blend. Isn't it gorgeous with all those leaves?
