Hi there!  I'm thrilled to be guest designing for Doodles Paper Playground and White Rose Crafts.  My sweet friend, Amber MacMurtry, recently asked me to try some of her gorgeous sequin mixes, which are sold exclusively by White Rose Crafts.  I have to tell you:  These mixes are so colorful and cool!  Amber has put together some truly unique mixes, and I will definitely be using more in the future!

For this card, I just had to play with the coolest mix ever - Unicorn Sparkle Blend.  I paired it with this cute dog from Mama Elephant, which I colored with Copics.

Dimensional Aperture card featuring Your Next Stamp "Cute Gnomies"

Hello Doodle Friends!

For my White Rose Crafts design team project this week, I created a dimensional aperture card, featuring  the absolutely adorable Your Next Stamp "Cute Gnomies" stamp set and Doodles Paper Playground: Sparkle Blends "Love Potion" embellishment mix.

I started with an A2 panel of wood grain printed kraft cardstock from my stash, and 1", 1.5" & 2" circle punches to create my apertures in an eye pleasing triangular design. I then placed my punched panel over a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" panel of white Recollections 65# cardstock.  I used a pencil to lightly trace the circles, before stamping the three Gnome images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I also stamped the flower cluster image from the set on the front of the wood grain panel. Next, I set about coloring the aperture images using my Spectrum Noir markers, and the wood grain image with Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

I have to say up front that I'm fairly new to using sequins on my cards, and have never made a shaker card before!  I didn't know how varied and beautiful the mixes can be!!  Wow!!!  

I'm hooked! It was such fun to shake out the little packet of sequins and discover the amazing variety and colors in this mix!  Bright yellows, orange, gold, greens and the teensiest little slices of fruit!  Watermelon, lemon, lime, orange and banana slices!  So many seed beads in all the colors plus shimmery little stars!  Little "gems" of red, green, yellow, orange!  Who knew you could pack so much deliciousness into such a small packet?!  

I created my card using Doodles Paper Playground Citrus Twist embellishment mix and Newton's Nook "Cuppa Cactus" stamp and dies set.  

I started by stamping out the cactus images onto Neena Exact Index with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then colored them using Zig Clean Color real Brush Pens. After using the coordinating dies to cut out the colored images, I pressed each one into my Versamark ink pad to coat them, 

then heat embossed them with 

clear embossing powder.
