Sunflower Shaker

Hey, Everyone! Alison here with a shaker card that uses the brand new Sunflower  Sparkle Blend from Doodles Paper Playground. I love the warm, autumnal colors this Blend has, and I thought it would be fun to use it as the center area of a sunflower.

I used the beautiful Sunny Vase stamp set from Stampendous to create this image. I started with my sunflower, masked it, then stamped and masked off the leaves, and finally, stamped the vase. This Stampendous stamp set comes with coordinating masks, so it is very easy to create a layered look like this.

I colored the image with Zigs, and then cut out the center of the sunflower with an X-Acto knife. I also drew in a table with my Zigs, and watercolored my background. You can see just some of the fantastic shaker bits that are in the Sunflower Sparkle Blend. I opted to omit the little clay sunflowers, and the orange sequin flowers, but I did use most of the other components. I love how easy it is to customize the Blend to use only what bits I want. I backed my shaker window with brown.
I opted to use an ivory card base and I splattered it with black ink for some additional visual interest. I like how on this card, the shaker isn't the most obvious thing. It's like an extra little surprise.
This month, most of the Sparkle Blends have a Halloween theme, but 2 are for the fall. I know I will be creating a ton of Halloween cards soon, so I was excited to use one of the fall-themed Blends first. Please don't forget to visit the Sparkle Blends Shop over on Etsy. There are many amazing Blends there beyond this most recent release. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have an inspiring day!
