Yappy Howl-idays

Hey Friends! I am popping into today with another collab guest post from Doodles Paper Playground and The Rabbit Hole Designs. Today I have combined DPP's Oh Christmas Tree and TRHD's Pawlidays stamp set.
For my card today, I stamped out the image and two of the sentiments to create the focal image on some watercolor paper.
Using a muted pallette, I watercolored in the image. (Is it just me, or are these two simply too cute!). The watercolor paper got adhered to an A2 card frame.
I added a bunch of the green Oh Christmas Tree sparkle blend sequins onto the floor of the card, hoping it looked like the pups knocked over holiday baubles.
I also added some little stars into the christmas tree added a large star to the top of the tree, and a couple of sequins around the sentiment.

So, did it work? Was I able to make the Sparkle Blends work with the watercolor art? I like to think I did, but there are still moments when I wonder. Let me know in the comments below what you think. Until then, happy crafting.

Merry Christmas

And now for a little more Christmas in July! I am bringing you a Sparkly Christmas Tree! Check this out!
This project features the fabulous Oh Christmas Tree and Old St. Nick Sparkle Blends. These two work together so well and allowed me to use the fabulous elements from both blends to give me tiny Santas, Tiny Christmas Trees, stars for both the sky and to decorate the tree. There are so many fun elements in these blends!
I created my background using Catherine Pooler Inks in Juniper Mist, Suede Shoes and It's A Boy, and have applied these with Taylored Expressions Blending Brushes. I then used Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillsides to create my snowy layers and attached these with Scor-Tape. Then I stamped and colored up the tree from a stamp set from Stamps of Life called Christmastree2stamp and cut it out with the coordinating die set. I colored it up with Copics in G03, G05 and G09. The sentiment is also from the same set and I stamped it using the same Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist ink. I then adhered the Sparkle Blends to my project using a combination of glue dots and On Point Glue.

Hope & Joy

So today I am bringing you some Elvely goodness! Check out these two cuties!
This project features the fabulous Merry Mint Sparkle Blend. I have used it not only in the shaker but also to top off their fun hats!
I have created the shaker using circle dies as well as a die that says Hope & Joy. These adorable elves are from a stamp set from Stamps of Life called elves2stamp and I have used the matching dies as well to cut out these cuties. The present is also from the same set.  I have colored up the images using Copics in G03, G05, G09, E11, E21, E00, R27, R29, R39 and YR31. These fun papers are also from Stamps of Life in a 6x6 paper collection called Hope & Joy Collection.

Candy Twist

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_0378-1.jpg
Hey Friends! It's EK and today, I am popping in with a little guest designing here at Doodles Paper Playground.
Earlier this month, DPP had a chance to collaborate and play with The Rabbit Hole Designs for a Christmas in July crafting palazzo, and today I am getting to play with not only DPP's recently released Sparkle Blends, but The Rabbit Hole Designs (TRHD) recently released holiday dies and stamps.
Today I am using the new Old St. Nick Sparkle Blend pack and Candy Twist die set from TRHD.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_0343.jpg
I started my project today by die cutting two piece of crafting paper with the Candy Twist die. One piece was simply a piece of cardstock, the second a piece of red adhesive foil. I have never played the foil paper before, so, there was a bit of a learning curve. I however thought it would be really cool if I could use the die cut in each of the other projects and get a cool two for one.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_0344.jpg
The red foil was a little hard to work with, so it simply got adhered to a piece of white cardstock. The Christmas cardstock got a piece of acetate to the back of the die cut opening.
This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_0345-1.jpg
The die cuts then got adhered into the openings, and I added back a few of the candy swirl die cuts back into the openings.

The holiday cardstock card got prepped to become a shaker card and I added the Old St. Nick Sparkle Blends got added to the opening. Both card faces were added to an A2 card.

The cards needed a sentiment, so I stamped a sentiment from The Rabbit Hole Design's new Kringle stamp set and embossed it in red embossing powder onto some trimmed cardstock.

The trimmed cardstock got a fishtail trimmed and added to the two cards.

Several Old St. Nick sequins were added to the face of the red foil card, keeping it simple.

I figured the paper of the printed cardstock was busy enough, that I let the sparkle blends inside the shaker do the work all on its own.

Let me know if you have a favorite card from the two today in the comments below. Until then, happy crafting!

Ho. Ho. Ho

Hi Sparkle Blends Fans! Today I am bringing you some more Christmas in July cheer featuring the big guy in all his sparkly jollyness! And I am using the perfect blend! His very own specialty blend, Old St. Nick! Have a look!
For this project I used a stamp and die set that is one of my favorites from The Stamps of Life and it is called Santa2Stamp and Santa Dies. I used the matching die set to create the shaker opening rather than using it to paper piece his hat. I added a layer of acetate behind and foam tape to create my shaker pocket.
To make my santa super textured, I colored him up with Copics, but then added texture to his mustache and beard with a Snow Marker from Marvy Uchida.
This is the first time I have used this. You add the marker where you want the texture and then hit it with your heat gun and it poofs up! So totally fun! Then I added Stickles Glitter Gel in Moon Dust to the brim and the poof of his hat. I am totally loving how this all came together.

Still Christmas In July

Hey Sparkle Blends Fans! Judy here! Today I am sharing another fun and sparkly Christmas In July project with you!

Check this out. This project uses an older cover plate die from Queen and Company that cuts out a basic Christmas Tree. I put some seriously sparkly silver glitter paper behind it, and some green glitter on top. And then in all my shaker spots I used Sparkle Blends Merry Mint. I also added the star on top of the tree with a gold star from the Oh Christmas Tree Sparkle Blend. I then finished up with stamping a sentiment from an older Stamps Of Life Stamp Set called Santa2Stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto some plain white cardstock and trimmed it down to fit at the bottom of my card.

I Sea It's Your Birthday

I Sea It's Your Birthday

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this card I decided to see what I had in my pre-colored images that would go with the Opal Sparkle Blend. I decided to go with an ocean theme as the colors of the images that I found were perfect for the sequins!

I die cut my base panel.

I put a double layer of foam tape on the outer frame piece.
I wanted to use the inside as the back of my shaker so I placed
it on a piece of paper that I will be able to trim
 down after adding my frame.

I put two images on the inside of the shaker.
I used a single layer of foam tape to add a little depth to the shaker.
Then I added the sequins. These are sooooo pretty!
The pictures do not do them justice.

I added the frame and trimmed any of the white backing that was visible.

I added a few images to the bottom of the card.

I thought that this card would be perfect for
my nieces birthday since she loves mermaids.
I added a birthday banner and fixed the mermaid.

I also added a few sequins to the frame, they are just so pretty!

☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

For this project I used the Opal Birthstone Collection Sparkle Blend.
